Just a bit of Kansas City interest regarding pop music and this town's Godfather of baseball:
ESPN: Lorde and George Brett . . . The retired Kansas City Royals hitter inspires another hit
Parts of this story have been out there before but this is the first time the Brett has commented on his Top 40 music dedication and revealed his crappy taste in music:
"It's cool to think that some magazine she found in a dentist's office grew into this enormous song," Brett says. "I love the song. My tastes run to Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra now, but I was young once. I had my Go-Gos and Bangles phase. I listened to Cyndi Lauper on my Walkman on the bus to the ballpark."
Who knew that Brett was formerly an 80s girl band-geek? WTF?!?!

This story has, "Hey I am Gay" written all over it.
ReplyDeleteSo does the comment by 711.
ReplyDeleteHad some bad crab at Kokomo's on The Strip... blew diarrhea into a perfectly good pair of Bally loafers.
ReplyDeleteMomma had tits just like that.
ReplyDeleteThat's not Lordi, this is Lordi!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAh9NRGNhUU
ReplyDeleteGeorge is as queer as Byron.
ReplyDeleteWhy would he admit listening to Cyndi Lauper? Either homo alert or his publicist wanted him to say that in order to resonate with the current generation.
