I hope this means there won't be a toxic nuke facility downtown too in addition to about 900 or more new jobs . . . KC Biz journal: Sources expect Two Pershing Square to get GSA lease

Let's face it. Nobody likes Kansas.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, the only way to get people to work downtown is to FORCE then to, and the only way to get anyone to build or rehab anything downtown is to subsidize it.
ReplyDeleteWhen does downtown finally reach the threshold of being successfuol enough to attract investment without the taxpayers picking up part of the bill. The cheerleaders tell us that apartment occupancy is aleady 95%. Isn't that enough?
Great, the same GSA that was raping the taxpayers on Vegas trips and such. Just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe 900 "new" jobs are just moving from South KC to downtown and the Marine Corps IT Center will continue to exist at Bannister until at least 2017. Interested to see what buildings are supposedly being torn down at the complex.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to know they don't mind poisoning veterans, but the civilians have to move. Just like always.
ReplyDeleteWhite boys are pussies.
ReplyDeleteFunny that GSA has to move but USDA gets a facility out at RG, with free parking. The irony becomes even funnier when you remember EPA got a lease in Lenexa. Did anyone notice the details. The building land owner got a 20 year lease!
ReplyDeleteThe GSA is getting $9M in free rent at Two Pershing Square, and they're talking about having their employees park at The River Market so they have to ride the streetcar to work.
ReplyDeleteWhen the government has to go out of it's way to inconvenience citizens in order to manipulate their behavior, it's very disturbing.
As much as I hate the way this streetcar has been executed, I want it to be successful. This is just another example of how the people investing in it are concerned about it's viability; if you can read between the lines.
