TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CONTROVERSY CONTINUES OVER SHADY KANSAS CITY ARTS CONVERGENCE PLAN!!!

Recently, AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS broke an important story about an "arts convergence" plan that basically steals loots skims Kansas City funds for infrastructure and diverts the cash to a trendy new program for the arts.

To wit . . .

AMONG KANSAS CITY POWER BROKERS THIS STORY HAS CREATED QUITE A STIR AND WE'RE GETTING FEEDBACK FROM MORE PEEPS OPPOSED TO THE MISPLACED PRIORITIES OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL!!!

Here's just a snippit of the Kansas City reax to the "arts convergence" controversy . . .

"Don't forget to mention the fact that this is going to be run through while everyone is out of time on vacation for the Holidays."

Actually, we did mention that but it's worth repeating.

Even better . . .

WE HAVE EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS WORD THAT NTDF REJECTED THIS PLAN IN ADDITION TO PIAC OPPOSITION!!!

NTDF for those who don't know: Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund

Here's the money quote:

"PIAC and the general fund are not the only ones listed as "possibilities of funding resources". Page 53 is very interesting as it goes on to mention looting from NTDF . . . Just like the PIAC board voted to not go along with this, this proposal was brought to the NTDF committee as well with the same result. NO!"

Another thought . . .

Notice this passage TKC: "These include an increased allocation of city general funds, re-purposing of existing City funding, allocations of existing staff time, and new funds generated from a revised public art ordinance." page 53 . . . That's basically a blank check for this program. Unacceptable.

And so . . . PIAC and NTDF oppose this Kansas City "arts convergence" plan as Mayor Sly and City Council mistakenly seem to believe that this plan will do anything but create a few more patronage jobs while taking away other City Hall resources.

Developing. . . .

  1. Better title: The KC swindle continues for Thanksgiving.

  2. NTDF money was already stolen to "study" streetcar extensions.... that sorta opened the barn door. Councils have been eyeing the pots of money for years...

  3. It's time to tell Sly NO!

  4. Told you Sly was a Jar Head just like Olie North.

  5. Yes! the streetcar stole money from NTDF! From fire! From police! Over $1 BILLION was pilfered from water, sewer, airport, parks, grandmothers, the Navy, the Army, Florida, and the Quakers. The streetcar is being investigated by the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, Scotland Yard, Interpol, the KGB and Oliver Stone!

    Jail time for all!!!

  6. If I was a Politician the first thing I would think is I need to set up business somewhere that has a populace like Sly James has.

  7. That's surprising that PIAC said "no". Sly and Troy have Forestine Beasley fighting for their agenda.

  8. So these TKC sources and tipsters are afraid to come out into the open?

    Pretty weak

  9. How can we screw thee? Let us count the ways.11/25/13, 2:12 PM

According to an audit released Monday morning.

The report found that from fiscal year 2010 to 2013, the city’s overtime payroll jumped from $11.3 million to $17.8 million, a 58-percent increase.

I guess this arts thing is going to pay for City Halls deficits.

  10. Kay Barnes looks like a fiscal conservative compared to this crack fueled crew in charge.

  11. Face it. Kansas City is a FAIL under the Sly James administration. Everything he touches turns to dust. What did Kansas City do to deserve this? Thank GOD election season is upon us. This shit-stain for a Mayor will not be re-elected.

  12. So okay we got a new logo, anything else of substance that won't leave us taxpayers holding a steaming bag of shit five or ten years down the road?

  13. This is about Harlan and Porter trying to keep their superfluous paychecks!!

  14. Will this arts program provide a venue for Kyle James' artistic rhymes?

  15. Sly James and crew have gone from what began as a game of musical chairs to what now resembles a Chinese fire drill.

  16. I thought the phrase "National Culture Center" was funny. How can you be a National Culture Center when you're a bunch of bigots & homophobes?

  19. Just like the State is running the KCPD, we need the State to come in and run City Hall.

  20. Money for street car studies came out of PIAC, not NTDF !

    ReplyDelete
  21. No NTDF money was taken for street car, but PIAC was.
Byron, STFU. You have not a clue what your talking about.

  22. No councilman has the guts to stand up to Sly or stand for anything. They are all afraid and lazy.

They stand for nothing. Keeping Brooks the Creep around, without one utterance of condemnation, is full evidence of that.

When is the last time a councilman had an individual initiative to brag about? Google? Soccer? Bowling Tournament? Hahahahahahahahha!
