TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY URBAN FILM FEST KAPUT!!!

For the late night we wanted to share a tragic bit of news for urban core media artists.

Here's the word from a TOP TKC TIPSTER and a really important media artist . . .

"After selling out to corporate sponsors last year, KC’s Urban Film festival died a quiet death . . ."

This is bad news for a lot of reasons and not just because Kansas City's Indie Movie Scene has a tendency to lack diversity . . .

This is a sign that maybe corporate sponsorship isn't the answer for all local artistic endeavors OR that maybe Kansas City's dividing lines are taking their toll on this town's creativity as well.

Developing . . .

  1. Maybe agree about the kc indie scene. There's a tendency for sponsors to overlook efforts from KCMO and to be honest JoCo is getting an increasing number of the movie dollars. That's a new level of competition to which KCMO isn't accustomed.

  2. Which would be better? Suburban film festival or Exurban film festival?

  3. Rural film fest would be best

  7. Who was behind that festival?

  8. I have the best job in the world. I make uninspired, predictable, agenda driven slog for mental gnomes who slurp up my drivel and worship me as some kind of black guidon in thte war on whitey, then I go pick up bags of money.

No one has ever seen Flav A Flav and me together.

  9. No, I have the best job. My movies consistantly rise to the artistic level of " The Housewives Of Atlanta".

Think of Common Core protocols put in place in Hollywood to cover for insipid acting, desultory directing and 6th grade playground humor and then, yes I go pick up TRUCK LOADS of money.

  10. Maybe City Hall should take over the film fest?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes, that would give city hall yet another opportunity to create three or four more $100,000/year jobs for insiders and run the film festival with the same expertise the water department enjoys.
    What could possible go wrong?

  12. We are still making porn. Lets have the KC Porn Festival.
