All Aboard The NKC Toy Train Streetcar?!?!

Wishful thinking from a nearby city that really just likes the attention: North Kansas City considers streetcar extension north of the river

  1. Say good by to your residential property. It will cost over $500.00 per residential property in North Kansas City to have Light Rail. Light Rail is what you are going to get the costs and need for repairs to utilities before the laying of the rails says that they are using the heavy Light Rail rails. The need for a new bridge says the same thing. A street car weighs no more than a bus or diesel truck they can go over the bridge. Quit blowing smoke up our asses.

  2. Uh, actually a streetcar weighs a fair amount more than a bus or a diesel truck. The streetcars in Salt Lake City weigh 96,500 lbs when empty and an average city bus weights between 25,000 and 40,000 lbs. Not sure where you got your facts about it being the same weight....

you haven't followed the history of NKC and rail.

there's already a citywide sales tax on the books for rail, it just hasn't ever been collected. it's uncertain if it can be redone for this project
