TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! DEVIL'S NIGHT IN KANSAS CITY?!?! SHOULD WE FEAR THE CHANCE OF HALLOWEEN VIOLENCE?!?!

Among urban core denizens and insiders on Kansas City's Country Club Plaza there's a bit of apprehension about this Halloween holiday.

To wit . . .

RIGHT NOW THERE'S TALK FROM MORE THAN A FEW SOURCES WORRIED ABOUT HALLOWEEN AND WEEKEND VIOLENCE IN KANSAS CITY!!!

Accordingly . . .

Anti-Crime activist Alonzo Washington has put out a warning about the possibility of Kansas City Halloween violence in addition to previous info regarding school shooting.

Scary stuff to be sure but it's better to consider the possibility and remain safe rather than ignore the problem. Consider the Kansas City 4th quarter violence and crime spike that has been mostly unmentioned in the mainstream media. So, talk of more violence amid late-week partying isn't really out of turn.

They say the weather will be clearer for tonight . . .

While we encourage folks to enjoy the holiday and not get too scared . . . It's worth considering that youth violence in Kansas City has consistently ruined a good time throughout the year.

Developing . . .

  5. Tony, please stop this. This type of false propaganda is ripping our community apart. Attack the politicians, get the inside "deets" from your " awesome TKC tipsters" but please stop the race baiting and the fear mongering.

  9. Screw you 8:30. So what? We live in Brookside and know exactly what you speak of. In 25 years we've never had a problem with the kids from some of the poorer neighborhoods come to ours to trick or treat because we have the "good candy" they tell us. We feel fortunate that we were born with certain advantages, have had good lives, have been blessed with opportunity and are fortunate enough to have $100 to spend on Halloween candy so that these kids can have a special treat once a year. Don't even care if they wear a costume. Only requirement is we make all children that come to our door- and trust me some of our neighborhood kids are the rudest) say "trick or treat" and we sometimes remind them to say "thank you". I'm sorry for your dark cold heart on such a fun holiday.

  10. The plan this year is to grind up as many rug rats as possible into dog food. No additional requirements or expansion planned here.

  11. 8:41 LMAO! How do they get into Mission Hills anyway? I'd think the cops that hover on 63rd Street would prevent that.

  12. No shit..I used to work on a lot of houses in MH
And id get fucked with by the cops eating lunch in my truck.

  13. @8:30-I think it's nice that you do this for the inner city kids, but Brookside is part of KCMO. Even though it's a nicer neighborhood, the kids are still somewhat in their own area. We live in SW Leawood and have all sorts of kids that come over here from KCMO. IMO, that's too far. It's one thing if the kids go to a better neighborhood a few blocks over, but to come all the way out here is just rude on the part of the parents. Plus, it gives some (not all)of the parents an opportunity to case our neighborhood. :(

  14. Sorry, mean to say @8:44 in prior post.

  15. First of all, Brookside can't absorb the entire urban core of children that want to trick or treat so suck it up, it's once a year. Second, the fact you think that ANY of these parents are "casing" your homes is exactly why we have a race problem in this city! I seriously doubt any of your neighbors have been burglarized as a result of trick or treaters. Moreover statistics show that 1) most property crimes happen w/ a mile of the perps base and 2) 98% of the crime is committed by less than 3% of the population. Unfounded fear is destroying us.

  21. I agree with the person at 9:24. We live in northeast JOCO and used to enjoy Halloween when the children from our street and a few blocks around us would stop by in their cute costumes. But unfortunately, we started having van loads of people from WYCO and KCMO invading our neighborhood. A lot of them were teenagers that weren't even wearing costumes, but just carrying bags to collect candy and acting out and using foul language in front of little ones. We became so uncomfortable with these people invading our neighborhood and ruining what used to be a fun night that we now hand out candy to the children on our street if we see them, but otherwise turn off our lights and typically go out for the evening. Most of our neighbors that do not have children at home do the same thing.

OK children when you go to the white people's neighborhood and ring the doorbell, the proper thing to say is "Trick or Treat" not "Give It Up Cracker Motherfucker" and you will not only get more candy children, you won't get shot.
