UMKC students and staff are once again subjected to the marketing hype of their administration.
Sadly, it's a teaching moment regarding the deep political connections of University leadership:

The advert disguised as news on the UMKC front page is a tried and true tactic and offers students an advanced lesson in persuasion . . . Sadly, I'm not sure if the UNews, with its one calender report and 20 pages of cable-news-show-inspired opinion, has picked up on the controversy and several complaints from supporters, students and staff of the city college.
Principles go out the window when the university stands to make a load of money from passage of the tax.
