TKC TREND SPOTTING!!! LIKE IT OR NOT: KANSAS CITY LAW FIRMS LOVE THE JACKSON COUNTY HEALTH RESEARCH TAX!!!

Kansas City's top law firms are donating some pretty decent chunks of change to the Jackson County Health Research effort . . .
We've already reported that Polsinelli donated $10K
Husch Blackwell kicked in $10K as well
Wagstaff & Cartmell offered $10K in what seems like an attempt to move into the ranks of bigger, better law practices
And recently . . . Stinson Morrison Hecker checked in with a paltry $7,500.
They can be forgiven if only because they were recently bought out . . .
Over lunch, one of you d-bags should tell Shook, Hardy & Bacon that they're slipping . . .
Anyhoo . . .
THE LOCAL LAWYER CLASS IN LOVE WITH MORE TAXES FOR JACKSON COUNTY IS SIGNIFICANT IF ONLY BECAUSE WHAT PASSES FOR THIS TOWN'S INTELLIGENTSIA SEEMS TO HAVE RULED FOR HEALTHCARE ECO-DEVO EFFORT!!!
Of course it's not a done deal and it's also worth noting that almost all of these folks vote in the Golden Ghetto or Platte County . . . Still . . . Big money lawyers loving more taxes for lowly Jackson County broke-ass denizens is a trend worth noticing.
P.S. - William C. Gautreaux, Prez of Inergy midstream kicked in $10k yesterday too . . .
Alright enough warmed up leftovers already.

ReplyDeleteThese law firms probably do work for those who will be feeding at the trough if this passes. They can't afford to not support it if it would piss off their clients. These folks may very well donate
ReplyDelete10K and vote against the tax.
USA is broke and we can't pay for anything, we have to keep going deeper and deeper into debt.
ReplyDeleteTaxpayers and retirees are the only source of cash left to loot.
We attorneys are happy to contribute these small amounts of money to increase the financial burden upon KC's common man. Think of it as an investment in our future. Most of us live in JoCo anyway, so it won't be an increased tax for us.
ReplyDeleteI just can't wait to again witness the uninformed, illiterate, unthinking dumb asses of Kansas City pass another tax and spend pet project that hands tax payer money to corporations on a silver platter.
ReplyDeleteHow many of these law firms are getting some sort of tax break? How many of their lawyers actually live in Jackson County?
ReplyDeleteWell its good to know that the lawyers are still guilded up behind polsinelli. fascist lot, they are.
ReplyDeleteI will vote for it only after Pulsinelli Attorney Mary Jane Judy posts nude and sexually explicit photos and videos of herself on the Internet for our viewing pleasure. Otherwise ... NO!
