TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! PREPARE FOR A KANSAS CITY LATINO RENAISSANCE ON THE CITY COUNCIL!!!

For more than 20 years Latinos in Kansas City have been without representation on the City Council despite the fact that numbers reveal this group to be the fastest and largest growing demographic in Kansas City proper.

Finally . . .

THE UPCOMING KANSAS CITY COUNCIL ELECTION WILL FEATURE AN UNPRECEDENTED NUMBER OF WELL QUALIFIED LATINO CONTENDERS THAT COULD REPRESENT A LATINO RENAISSANCE IN LOCAL POLITICS!!!

Better than rhetoric . . . We've got a preview and a bit of background on the contenders.

Check it:

4th District Contender: Former Kansas City Parks Board Prez And Matthie Rhodes Center President & CEO John Fierro

He's an MBA and MPA and a longtime power player in Kansas City politics overall. Mr. Fierro is exceptionally shrewd for avoiding outright Latino advocacy and instead working in the field of social service for the benefit of his organization and his public profile.

Super Power: Among women, artists and all kinds of liberals The Mattie Rhodes Center is beloved for art-focused work which could play well in the 4th District race.

Weakness: The Ward Parkway Corridor power brokers and their deep pockets might not approve Mr. Fierro moving up in the world. Council Lady Jan Marcason has already anointed Missouri State Sen. Jolie Justus as her favorite and "girl power" could thwart Latino progress. This wouldn't be the first time a white woman ruined the hopes and dreams of a Latino dude in hilarious fashion.

Next up . . .

Jackson County Legislator Theresa Garza Ruiz Already Works To Run The 5th District At-Large

JaxCo Politico Theresa Garza-Ruiz has worked tirelessly to secure her standing among the local Democratic elite . . . So much so that her personal life and all of her political moves are common knowledge. Ms. Garza Ruiz is already shacking up with Council Lady Cindy Circo in order to secure her 5th District credentials and she has better name recognition than most other candidates thinking of getting into this race.

Super Power: She's a political insider but UNION SUPPORT will be the key factor in her winning a citywide vote.

Weakness: Ms. Garza Ruiz has improved her image but SO MUCH GOSSIP surrounding her candidacy could take a toll and it's unclear if her close working relationship to current 5th District Council Lady Cindy Circo will prove beneficial. Remember the Garza-Ruiz affiliation with Cafe Trio regular Crystal Williams didn't work out. Finally . . . The question will arise: What has Theresa done @ Jackson County? She is well-liked and respected but she failed to bring forth promised election reform and doesn't really have any solo initiatives that are exceptionally impressive.

3RD District At-Large: Crispin Rea

Mr. Crispin Rea has recently earned his MPA, he's set to garner his law degree and continue his work in the Jackson County Prosecutor's office as he champions the progress of Kansas City Public Schools while serving as Board Vice-President. There is no question that Crispin Rea is one of the most accomplished young people in all of Kansas City and he has already seems to have an impressive level of support among the local elite which he has worked to secure before officially announcing a run and while mainstream media can't confirm his election hopes.

Super Power: Again, Crispin Rea has a lot going for him but his most impressive attribute is his extensive list of achievements. For someone in his early 20s, Mr. Rea has the resume that commands respect. Mr. Rea's earnest efforts also play well in public debate, it's easy to talk trash on the KCPS but few people do anything but complain from the sidelines. Crispin Rea is a lifelong resident of the 3rd District and his urban core success story should play well. Nevertheless, because I don't want to obfuscate the facts of life from faithful readers of this blog . . . There is the perception/fear that voters would rather elect a Latino than an African-American in a city-wide election.

Weakness: Youth could also be a hindrance for Mr. Rea. Also, if this thing gets racial . . . And it will . . . The exceptionally tough and often unfair politics of the 3rd District could not only thwart Crispin but also destroy a somewhat successful Black/Brown Coalition in Kansas City. Real Talk: A tense racial debate could drive everybody away from this vote and lead to a 3rd/5th collabo that might win amid low voter turnout.

And so ... First and while worthless vendida Mary Sanchez is probably recovering from an all-night sing-along with Butch Rigby . . .

This Kansas City Latino Renaissance could bring us back to the heady days of the late 70s when Bobby Hernandez, Paul Rojas and a few other Latino power brokers won elected office thanks to shifting demographics. Strangely, this time around it seems that At-Large offices that mostly serve to deny minority representation could work in the favor of Latinos at the expense of African-American candidates . . .We'll have more on all of this as it develops but wanted to give local politically connected denizens something to think about for Saturday.

And so the fight over crumbs continues in Kansas City.

Developing . . .

  1. This leaves a lot of questions open about fundraising and other PACS that will step up their games well. Much more to tell about this story.

  2. John Fierro already has my vote, but who is running against Glover? He HAS to go.

  3. I want to suck Crispin's titties.

  4. I like that at least two of these candidates aren't just running as hispanics. it's still early though, lots of time for others to weigh in.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RACIST TO SUGGEST THAT THESE PEOPLE, NOT BEING BLACK, SHOULD BE ALLOWED ON THE CITY COUNCIL. You are a racist Tony for not advocating an all black city council.

  8. That Fierro freak is just that, a God damned freak! He has absolutely no business on City Council or anything else, for that matter. The other hand, the other two candidates are quality people and deserving of consideration...

  9. Any spot not occupied by a black is progress.

Senor "Penis Head" Fierro....just ANOTHER wanna be power broker.

  12. Well, elBryan says Fierro already has his vote & one Ms. Anonymous said he was a 'freak' & another Ms. Anonymous called him a 'Penis Head'. One elBryan beats two Missy's.

He seems the most qualified, with the least baggage, so what's to hate? I can't make out the pin on his label. What is its significance?

  13. Smart people who will represent the will of the people, not look to line their pockets and advance themselves welcome no matter what color.

If Black people would cease to destroy one another in the 3rd District and focus on positive interaction, this story would be a non-issue because Crispin would lose. Alas, Blacks have allowed their property to foreclose and have it discounted because they settled for some lowly payout on the front end. Blacks will lose power. It's time for another race to give it a shot and I'm sure they'll be successful because they nurture their own in spirit and business. Good luck to all of the diverse candidate. Sometimes change has to come in the form of elimination and depowering another race. Really, Blacks did it to themselves. They can't blame Crispin for being motivated.

    1. At least he's had a real job. Jolie Justus has been living off the government and Steve Kraske hard on her whole political career

  16. Yes, there nothing like selecting candidates for NEW positions from folks coming from great success stories like Jackson County or the Kansas City School District. Why take a chance on failure, when you can elect people who have already failed?
Like how property in JaCo was appraised? Let's bring the same oversight to KCMO city hall.
How about the no-bid under-the-table $34 million contract at the KCPS that the board would have passed had it not been for the media? What could be better experience for a cushy spot at 12th and Oak?
Same old names; same old fail.

  17. Ok, what was his "real" job? Some 501(c)3 bullshit??

  18. Sheesh we'll go from the 1930's to the 70's.

  19. Does this mean Tuba music will replace the National Anthem in KCMO?

  20. I guess we could do worse. But I hope they will not partner with the Somali overlords.

  21. As long as they kiss old Kansas City white establishment ass they'll keep a job.

  22. The first guy sounds great, the other two seem woefully unqualified. I dont know why we would bump up someone who sits on a school board that lost accreditation under his watch. And garza ruiz hasnt done much.

First guy will probably lose as justus has the full heft of the lgbtxyzcis community behind her. Even though her only notable accomplishment was losing 15 mil of funding for umkc.

    ReplyDelete
  23. And THIS is why everyone wants to leave KC. No WYCO politics thank you very much.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Don't believe the bullshit! This Fierro dipshit is so unqualified, it defies belief. Check this ugly, little fucker out....He's worthless.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Garza is not really KC resident. She is renting the basement of Cirrco and never been a KC resident. Never been a resident! She going around the rules to run. No way I would vote her.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This Fierro creature has been appointed and elected to places he should never have been even allowed to participate in. He's so fucking ugly and dwarf-like, that people feel pity on him and give him a vote. It's time to quit voting the Pity Party and vote for someone that's qualified and who you think might do a good job. Not this freak.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Garza gets a waiver because she has a nice set of cans.

In two, maybe three generations, there will be enough intermarriage between Hispanics and Anglos that they will form one big ethnic group and there will be intermarriage between White Trash and Blacks their offspring will still be a minority.

Bienvenido a AmĂ©rica amigos. Vamos a asimilar tu'. Preparado para ser asimilados. La resistencia es inĂștil.

  29. Crispin for the 3rd! Love it!

  30. Crispy has a big 'ol B==========D

  31. Garza seems to be carpet bagging. I think the other two are great but Fierro probably does not stand a chance. Rea would be good for city-wide.
