Lighter than expected attendance. making them feel better by saying the Burns and Mac BBQ is in competition.
Most of the broads have the mantra " 3 women are coming off council. Time to get behind 3 replacement women. "
Crispin is there working the room, poor thing. He says he is city wide material, he says he has done the ground work by meeting with key people, etc.. I think the estrogen in the room is making him weepy.
Dee Evans, the other candidate wanna be is a no show. Maybe she like BBQ and beer better than bruschetta and Chablis?

ReplyDeleteThey used to get 1200 people at The Torch Dinner. Last night, they were lucky if they had 200 and most of those people were there on tickets purchased by a few big givers, or they were what passes for Caucus organizers now.I think they were off at least 100 people since last year, which makes it dangerous to comment on here because everyone knows each other so well.
ReplyDeleteIn the old days Burns and Mac would have never scheduled their event against the torch dinner, so the girls should not feel good about using that as an excuse. The group just does not matter anymore. Burns and Mac did not have to worry about the scheduling conflict with a non-event.
ReplyDeleteI swung by the cocktail hour but when I saw the tired old crowd I did not go in. I'll put it this way: Not one of the attendees was going home that night with the expectation of sex ... with another person.
