Yesterday . . . The story of a South Kansas City rampage from a guy who just got out of jail raised a lot of questions about The Prosecutor's office and their efforts to keep the most violent offenders off the streets.
To even out their coverage . . . KCTV5 wrote this love letter to Jackson County Prosector "Mean" Jean Peters Baker:

And it's the last part of the headline that folks are having trouble with . . .
Mean Jean has been at the forefront of the fight against the Catholic Church . . .
She has made more than a few high profile cases . . .
But the ongoing and increased quotient of Kansas City murder and crime has brought more scrutiny over the way her office handles violent offenders. The overriding theme is that politics takes precedence over prosecutions . . . Is that a valid criticism? TKC isn't qualified to say . . . But I do know that when prosecutors typically face criticism from the public. The blame is quickly passed along to judges. Natch.

She should quit wasting taxpayer money with the failed "war on drugs" and focus on actual crimes.
ReplyDeleteSome prosecutors react to tight budgets by using their discretion to narrow their focus, Jean should do that and quit prosecuting drug possession crimes. It would get her lots of public support and national headlines as well. Watch out Claire!

ReplyDeleteHer and her prosecutors only take the "sure thing" cases. If there is even the smallest possibility they will loose they either offer a plea deal or don't even file charges on it. There are multiple felon in possession of a firearm cases every month that just get tossed out

ReplyDeleteHow about our trusty and educated and well qualified DFS workers from Jackson County.The very ones Jean Bakers thinks are so professional and qualified that they could help out the KC Police throughout their child abuse cases. The very ones who come into a childs home with two police men with guns and send mommy outside. While this very highly qualified DFS woman begins to ask him questions. All the while this little boy has been told by his Daddy that he will be shot by a policemans gun if you tell them about me. Because you are bad and did bad things with Daddy too.So he says no to the DFS worker and she concludes this did not happen!!!! Really??? She is that knowledgeabke. More than a court assigned phychologist that diagnoised my precious grandson with PTS.My grandson disclosed to teachers,.family, doctors,.theraptist.His Daddy has never been convicted.Not even a hand slapped!!! He is free to prey on children.ZERO faith in Jackson County DFS and criminal court!!!!!!! What if it was their child?????//
ReplyDeleteP.S.The very same DFS in above case.Wrote a official letter to the civil court nine months later saying based on all the "ponderance amount of substainated evidence by the professionals" that sexual abuse had occurred.Really????? Their trusty qualified skills led them to that conclusion,finally!!!! Still this predator is free!! Due to the negilence and poorly operational investigative techniques of Jackson County judicial system!!
