City Hall Saved Kansas City Urban Core But Nobody Noticed Except Dead Tree Media!!!

Check Sunday propaganda from newspaper that touts an urban core turnaround consisting of two grocery stores and some student housing . . .

New projects are pumping more life into KC's urban core

As always, what is left out of this discussion is the quotient of Kansas City violence that stifles business and real economic development on Kansas City's East Side . . . But happy news about a grocery store is the only opinion Dead Tree Media is willing to put forth.

  1. The "urban core" is rotten and so are the niggers that infest it. Pretty soon, the whole fucking apple will be soft and brown..

  2. Let's see, at that corner you have a bunch of empty store fronts, a Dollar General, a futon store, and not much else. That's right where that building collapsed a couple of years back. Investing in the urban core is a waste of time and money until its inhabitantants invest in themselves. That means getting an education, getting a real job, and not having kids you have no intention of taking care of. Some fool wants to invest their own private funds, not yourself out. See you in bankruptcy court. As for public funds, absolutely not.

  3. KC's version of Apartheid. Kind of like a South Africa-style Bantustan.

  4. Oh, I see! The answer to murder, rape, assault and burglary is put a new front on the urban core. Oh yeah! That's gonna work damn nears as good as out probation and parole system.

  5. I travel a lot and I go to big cities all over America. KC is one of the top 10 most deteriorating cities in America in my opinion and experience. every major city has a ghetto area but the problem here is that ours is so geographically huge. plus any city that sits on a state line and is competing against another state will always fail because the two states just destroy each other from within. as goes the city of Kansas City so goes the whole metropolitan area. trust me people if you traveled a lot you would see it and Kansas City is falling fast.

  6. Urban core is a sixteen square mile area. Hipster Union Hill Apartments help hipsters get to class

  7. Since when has a grocery store been considered economic development? Same with student housing. Basically, UMKC bought much needed land to house students. All that really translates to is that UMKC needs more student housing. Further, the Whole Foods Grocery Store is also UMKC funded. Both are going in on the outermost edge of the Third District. In fact, had it not been for the new district boundary lines, this project would not be in the Third District. Both projects are along Troost Avenue. I'll celebrate economic development when it's at 27th Van Brunt.
