Check this exceptionally important note about changing demographics and languages in the suburbs of Kansas City:
"As population becomes more diverse, need for interpreters rises - In the Olathe School District, students and their families speak 72 different languages. Outside of English, Spanish is the largest. Heading into parent teacher conferences, there are several languages that the districts need interpreters for."
As always, it's worth noting that in other technologically advanced nations around the world it's common for locals to speak more than one language and not throw a panic attack when they hear an option for Spanish on their bank's telephone line.
Diversity is a resounding success!! School test scores will only rise as the number of spoken tongues increases in our schools!
