I'm sure it's a nice gesture and their hearts are in the right places . . . But the case of Kansas City's youngest homicide victim this year needs more substantial public interest . . . Still, credit to this effort for keeping the story in the news . . .

And, like it or not, all that locals have is publicity stunts until the community speaks up and helps to bring the people who gunned down an innocent child to justice.
