TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! MORE ANTI-UNION ALLEGATIONS AGAINST MAYOR SLY!!! UNION BUG PRINTING TROUBLES FOR 'ROCK THE BLOCK' SIGNS!!!

Once again Mayor Sly is taking harsh criticism from Kansas City unions.

First, a bit of background . . .

In Kansas City politics, all signage is throughly checked for a union "bug" or decal that signifies it was printed at a Union shop. It's more important than KC's sign ordinance . . . Signs that don't have the "union bug" can be trashed at will and any candidate who dares violate this local code will never win an election in this town.

To wit . . .

TONIGHT KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS BRING WORD OF "UNION BUG" PROBLEMS FOR SIGNS PROMOTING MAYOR SLY'S BIG SUMMER BLOWOUT PARTY!!!

Here's the news . . .

The most KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS tell us: "Unions noticed Sly's "Rock the Block" yard signs lacked a union bug. It turns out his office doesn't use union printers."

Now, we'll have more on this controversy as it develops and Mayor Sly's relationships with organized labor in Kansas City grows even worse.

Developing . . .

  5. Just Us Service Priniting and Graphics8/12/13, 9:40 PM

    Sly:

You can always use Service Printing and Graphics, which is a SCAB shop but the owners will fake a Union Bug by running the artwork past a designer who pays dues to the SEIU and will put a SEIU bug on the work. Or, they will have the outside cover or pages printed at a Union shop, which earns a bug while the SCABS print the rest of the job.

Either way, you will not save money because the Walters family will charge the same Union Scale rate, but pocket the difference that should go to the employees.

  6. I have never understood why Labor has not sued Greg Walters for fraud based on his use of Union Bugs.

  7. Sly is a backstabber, we need a better Mayor.

  8. if it isn't a mega rich corporation demanding a hand out, city hall doesn't care. this sign issue is a perfect example of how city government has forgotten the working man.

  9. Union printers? WTF!

I understand that the union bribes/threats of physical violence are part of KCMO politics, but I wonder what the annual cost savings to taxpayers would be to print everything off at Kinkos like every othet organization on earth.

Maybe the unions should learn something from Detroit. The free ride can't last forever guys.

  10. Sly thinks he's so popular he doesn't have to play by the rules. He is about to learn otherwise.

  11. Union honcho probably getting a cut on the side from Walters to let it slide. You're nuts if you think union top dogs give a fuck about the rank and file. That's only for the movies and photo ops.

    ReplyDelete
  12. He's a total phony. The dibshits in KCMO can't tell the difference between a bullshit artist and a genius ...so we get this Sambo who knows how to dance...Sly...what a joke!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Someone tell me why a union shop is better than a small business that is not union? All union do now is keep bad employees, well employed. They do nothing for the good worker except take dues and then offer unrealistic benefits that cause companies to go in bk and then looky no benefits.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Did you enjoy your weekend 5:45? We did not get those until there was a union movement, whether you work for a union shop or not.

Bad management, not fair bargaining, drives companies broke.

Sly should be ashamed as a human being, let alone as a politician and public servant.

  15. Not a Union job, so it's spelled correctly, cost 1/2 as much and was done in half the time. Sounds like someone in City Hall made a good decesion for once.

  16. oops, I mean decision.

  17. I always have mixed feelings about unions. You, see 6:27 & 6:37 are both right. Historically necessary, but unreasonable demands have hurt many cities & businesses.

Did any of the local unions stand with the McDonald's picketers? See, that's the problem. Union workers become middle class & then feel no solidarity with the poor.

In the past, union agitators would have been helping their fellow workers, instead of whining about how much their Big Mac was going to cost.

  21. I'm very glad to hear that. It seemed from the reports that I read, that they stood alone.

  22. Also Byron I think it would better server all of us for the unions to advocate for the return from oversees of the real skilled labor jobs that deserve higher wages.
We don't need to artificially elevate what should be entry level minimum wage jobs just because we are afraid to remind our current president (who I voted for) that he said he would end the tax breaks to companies that take jobs out the country.

We also need to advocate for better techincal and vocational training in ALL schools, especially urban schools, so young people who can't or don't really even want to go to college or are bettter skilled for trades, have training and access. Let's not falsely elevate a fast food job just because we have fallen down on keeping factories in the US and fallen down on our educational system.

What you say is true, but when I go to McDonald's I see adults working behind the counter. Maybe they should be 'entry level jobs', but they are not.

  25. Byron the Fake Funkhouser, why don't you try getting a job and quit sucking off the government?

These programs are designed to entertain the shiftless negro population and keep them under control. After all, they have nothing to do except go to school, get involved in their church youth group, pick up all the trash blowing around their neighborhoods, cover up the graffiti, etc.
