SETTLING THE CHECK: KCPD CAPITAL GRILLE CLUB REIMBURSEMENT!!!

After an investigation found no policies had been violated . . . KCPD top brass get cash back following a ruckus over fine dining:

"Four commanders get back the money that they were forced to reimburse the department, as well as more than $13,500 in attorney fees. The commanders also agreed not to sue the Board of Police Commissioners as part of the settlement."

Former Chief Corwin was included in this high ranking police refund. The cost of the investigation was about $60K which was WAY more than the bill or for 3 years of police commander bills over the past 3 years . . . Which kinda proves that Dead Tree Media really just wastes everybody's time and money.

Conclusion . . . Now that the bill has been settled, it's clear that fine dining is probably a no-no for top echelon po-po following this costly lesson.

I thought examining the issue was the job of the police board? The consultants really just ripped off KC. Such a shame that we can't get anything right.

That's why I don't put too much stock into so much bad talk about Forte. The old guy was much worse and that's not even bringing up the police protection for his girlfriend.

  7. good for them. the commissioners did a knee jerk reaction to the entire thing and fueled the media. Maybe next time the commissioners will think things through before jumping. How much do you think our mayor and/or council spends wining and dining legislatures, ceo's? These commanders were working as lobbyists which has been a long tradition. You're kidding yourselfs if you think the commissioners were not aware of this practice.
