NORTHEAST RAGE @ CITY HALL HYPOCRISY

Northeast News pens an EPIC screed against City Hall in the aftermath of no-bid contract and one financial misadventure after the next.

Money line:

"Yep – they just handed this one over without a competitive bid process despite the fact that per the city charter, a contract of this size is required to go through the competitive bid process . . ."

As of late, most voters watching City Hall have been surprised with the shocking lack of transparency and/or accountability as we're about halfway toward elections and these meaningless buzzwords start getting repeated again.

  2. Nobody gives a fuck about what cowardly hypocrites like Publisher Mike Bushnell prints in his paper. He sells ads, and spouts off from behind the closed door of his "news" office.

  3. I care what Michael has to say and find this particular contract ludicrous. No one in KC has any experience in customer relations? What do we pay the managers of Water Services for? Geez.

  4. I have rage over the fact they are wasting $12 million on a customer service contract versus fixing infrastructure. They should fire Terry Leeds and Troy Shitty.

  5. I think that the Northeast News would better serve the community if the publisher were more consistent with issues of corruption. He is rightfully outraged by the no-bid water contract; but he isn't outraged at ALL the other no-bid contracts that flow through the Jackson County Legislature every year? I feel his inconsistency is because to examine the County corruption would put him directly in conflict with the Rizzo faction, - and with the Rizzo's strong supporter, TKC. The Pitch seems to be the only source of real journalistic investigation in this city.

  6. Check the no-bids on the East Patrol project too.
