Quick updates on local lingering questions . . .

First the easy one . . . The KCI Single-Terminal Scheme isn't in any rush to develop a solid plan:

KCI Advisory Board wants to hire an outside consultant, will deliberate into 2014

Meanwhile . . .

NBC Action News Reporter Ryan Kath put this on blast via social media . . .

"Still no final report on the natural gas explosion at JJ's restaurant in February. The Missouri Public Service Commission staff is asking for more time, noting they are awaiting more information from MGE. Depending on the utility's responses, and any follow-up questions, the final report might not be released until December. According to today's status report, "the focus of the investigation will be to determine whether MGE was in complicance with state regulations, and any applicable state and federal safety standards.""

So, while City Hall loves to ask for more cash via "emergency ordinance" . . . Voters should be prepared to wait a long time for answers to any longstanding questions regarding government accountability. Also, don't hold your breath.
