The future of Westport High is still in play, which means the debate over the need for public schools in midtown will continue."
And don't think TKC is being a Debbie Downer on KCPS re-purposing futility, it's actually a pretty great biz opportunity. Buyers hold onto these blighted structures and bide their time until Fed Cash or some other interest eventually buys it back at a HUGE profit in order to try and actually do something with the space . . . In the meantime, happy talk using the word "community" about 12-15 times will satisfy most neighborhood dweebs for at least the next decade. Sadly, the long-standing profit model won't make any mainstream media outlet but it's pretty much the MO of just about every interest that has taken part in KCPS "repurposing" so far.

That fucking building will stand empty, stripped bare by thieves, boarded up and left that way for the next 10 years. Then it will be torn down. End of story.
