TKC TIPSTERS TELL US OF A MONDAY NIGHT DRIVER'S LICENSE CHECKPOINT TONIGHT NEAR TROOST!!!
Here's the latest testimony from a TKC Reader . . .
"A friend just mentioned that she was stopped by the KCPD for a drivers license checkpoint on Troost south of Linwood. This was at 6:30 on a Monday night! She said they were stopping every car to check for driver's licenses. Racial profiling by KCPD? And to do this at this time on a Monday night with no notifications of checkpoints?"
Clarification . . .
KCPD Insiders tell us that the cash for these Driver's License Checkpoints is actually federal . . . So I guess we can blame Obama.
Also, last week remember police started this process with a Northland stop and now have seemingly moved South of the River.

ReplyDeleteOMG, a drivers license checkpoint on a Monday evening? Who would have thought that there would be more drivers out in the evening, than late at night?
ReplyDeleteAll of the drivers license checkpoints have been during evening hours, and have been located all across the city with the last few being in south kc, north oak trafficway, etc.
As for notice or a warning? That's the point of the checkpoint.
Have a valid license and carry it and you won't have any problems. So what if you have to wait an extra 10 min on the way home. Downtown construction takes care of that anyways, and I'm sure you would be complaining if an unlicensed driver hit you on your way home anyways.
There was a sobriety check point this past Friday night at Troost and Gregory Blvd.

ReplyDeleteDont freak out about drivers license check points, if Sly gets his way with local control then he will be having the pd do gun check points which he has promoted as being in high crime areas and the police searching peoples cars when they are stopped. The pd has already said that this idea is a legal nightmare but the mayor still wants it to happen

ReplyDeleteTroost is a good way to travel through the city. You can get gas if you need it and the traffic isn't bad when Main and Broadway are heavy.

So they were essentially asking for what you should have with you at all times, a valid drivers license, current tags, and proof of insurance. I don't see any sort of correlation with any specific race here. Either you follow what you're supposed to do or you don't and pay the penalty.

Driving without a license, or especially insurance is an injustice to everyone else that does. No wonder you see more hit and runs in that part of the city.

They were trying to get justice for one of their own who got killed by a drunk driver with a suspended license....smh but yes kc can b very racist what can u do? You can't fight it by going off bcuz that's what they want. They want to b able to say you were acting ignorant & all that. Just shut up bite your tounge be as polite as u can & get the hell out of the situation. Trust me I've done it both ways lol
