TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! POLICE PRICE TAG SHOCK!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS WARN OF UPCOMING $20 MILLION CHANGE ORDER FOR EAST PATROL!!!

Kansas City insiders are shocked at a bill that's coming to City Hall rather soon.

Let's keep this quick and dirty because it's all happening behind the scenes . . .

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS FEAR AN UPCOMING $20 MIL CHANGE ORDER FOR THE EAST PATROL PROJECT!!!

This is the height of political and economic backroom dealing that has piqued even more interest in a project that most thought was a done deal.

An KC Insiders offers the following perspective . . .

"This move is going to confirm a lot of fears about how City Hall can not longer manage money or keep their vendors under control. If THIS COMPANY needed $20 Million Extra then they should have made that clear in their bid. This bait and switch reflect poorly on A POWERFUL LOCAL COMPANY and even more so on the Mayor and City Council who don't bother to execute any due diligence for the public money they award."

Again, this is all on background but AWESOME KANSAS CITY INSIDERS simply don't want the public to be shocked when the bill finally arrives.

DEVELOPING . . .

  17. As a retired procurement weenie (federal level and for the major defense contractor), I can say that if this is, indeed, a "change order," it would be something that was not in the original bid specs and someone decided to tell the contractor to do it after the contract was awarded. It's the same as when a homeowner hires a contractor and then adds work. Quite frequently someone who does not have the authority to tell the contractor to make a change does so, the contractor complies, and then the shit hits the fan.

So the first question here is what exactly was this $20 mil change and who authorized it?

If the contractor knew it was unauthorized, the contractor should eat all or a part of the costs. If an unauthorized person directs the contractor to make a change, and the contractor believes that person has the authority to make the change, it's not unheard of for the unauthorized person to have to chip in to pay for the change.

  18. All i can say is I can not believe City Hall is getting away with all this shit. Which basically amounts to total incompetence with a dash of highway style robbery tossed in.

Anyone who doesn't cringe reading this stuff coming out of downtown day after day is apparently in a coma.

  19. This company owns KC & KCK city halls. The funds given to the contract approvers ensure they’re continually re-elected needs to be looked into. Oh, right the individuals that have called them out had their lives destroyed. Pay up KC.

  20. Sly knew this change order was coming, so he pulled back on KCI. Enjoy paying for all the lunch, dinners and drinks for the select few on his KCI board.

  21. CITY HALL FIRED SOME CONTRACTORS FOR SPENDING 1 MIL ON TWO HOUSES IN BEACON HILL - AND NOW THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE "QUALIFIED" TO HANDLE BUSINESS THEY COULD NOT "FIGURE" OUT IN 30 YEARS?? LOOK AT THEM - LOLLY LOLLY SPENDING MONEY ON TRAINS AND TROLLEYS - LIFE IS GOOD - HUH GUYS!

  22. The City is trying to incorporate a Community Center to make beleive that the use is public. The project doesn't meet the definition of public use and they've condemned more than 30 properties. Tricked the property owners into believing that they had to move in order to assemble the land. Now, with the additions to the proposal, they must now have figured a way to define a public use. Wait for the lawsuits on this. They are coming.

  28. Dasta is still around, city hall mediated a contract for a gene ables after gene won the bid and he was forced to sign over a part of the contract which gave Dasta the larger share of the money and the smaller part of the work. That was just two or three years ago when they weren't allowed to ever bid again by court order because of environmental violations
