Kansas City hi-tech and history have created a bit of a controversy this afternoon.

THERE'S A BIT OF KANSAS CITY RAGE OVER INSENSITIVE BUMPER STICKERS ON DISPLAY AMID WHAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE OUR SIGNATURE INTERNETS HIGH SPEED PROJECT!!!

A TRUSTED TKC TIPSTER SAYS: "There are "complaints that a Google Fiber subcontractor is showing up with confederate flag bumper stickers on a truck in the 5th District."
Some may play this off like it's not a big deal . . .
Admittedly, TKC is only marginally familiar with the Confederate flag because it adorned the 'General Lee' in the old Dukes Of Hazzard TV shows I watched in reruns . . .
But really . . .
THE FLAG OF THE CONFEDERACY REALLY ISN'T THE RIGHT COLOR FOR THE RAINBOW BUNNY!!!
And so . . . Locals look to continue their complaint and hope that subcontractors will be sensitive to the legacy of the Confederate Flag and how it might disturb those who want Google Fiber to be a bit more inclusive.

ReplyDeleteIt didn't matter if you were black, white, Union, Confederate, you had to evacuate. And because most of the able-bodied men were off fighting for one side or another, it was perpetrated against women, children and the elderly and some were killed or died while OBEYING the order.
