SAVE KCI PETITION EFFORT STAYS LOSING!!!

There's no stopping Kansas City's tragic journey to a single-terminal. Today, the Save KCI petitions where smacked down by City Hall.

Petition to block single-terminal KCI lands with a thud

"The city quickly dismissed the challenge on legal grounds. John Murphy, the originator of the petiton and the group calling itself Friends of KCI, said Kansas City said his request to put the plan up to a referendum vote was "invalid" after he collected 164 signatures on a petition requesting a referendum."

Rule check: It was "invalid" because it was a resolution and not an ordinance . . . So, it really just looks like this group jumped the gun but at some point City Council have to make their plans part of an ordinance and that might be the better time for a renewed effort.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. What a shame the City Council has to waste the tax payers money before the tax payers get to say out loud "we really mean it! we don't want this" maybe KC doesn't flourish not because theres nothing here to draw them in but because those people using their positions like they're playing a board game of Life is just simply destroying it. I thank God that cindy can no longer play a leading role in this mess

  2. It's sad this couldn't move forward, the citizens are as saavy at the intricate law details as city hall lawyers.
Too bad the city council can't see that the mere fact that citizens went to this length to file this means they should stop this expensive plan now.
