Kansas City Public Radio reporting reveals that City Hall is willing to quickly slam the breaks on any idea that will wrestle control form their hands: Airport Bus Privatization Plan Gets a Flat "No" From Council

  3. In addition to normal operating expenses, the current City-employed bus drivers incur MILLIONS (that's right, millions with an M) in casualty claims, property damage and workers compensation costs each year.

    It is so bad, one of the drivers is known as the "Million Dollar Man" for all the medical care and compensation he's received from supposed workplace injuries (e.g. Both knees, both shoulders, back, neck, a knee again, etc.).

    And you can't fire any of them- they're City employees!

    The City Council will improve the situation by putting nail salons in the back of every bus.
