KANSAS CITY POLITICOS ALL OUT OF IDEAS IF "CLUB KC" DOESN'T WORK TO STOP VIOLENT TEEN FLASH MOBS ON THE PLAZA!!!
Yesterday it was clear that Kansas City elected officials lacked the initiative and political will to realistically confront the problem of violent teen flash mobs on The Country Club Plaza.
The discussion is now on hold and what's really happening is that this town's myopic political leadership hopes that CLUB KC can stop the violence . . .
SADLY, NOBODY IN KANSAS CITY IS QUESTIONING THE ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES UNDER THE TACIT THREAT OF VIOLENCE!!!
There's a bit of disagreement on how this effort seems to slap the Northland in the face . . . We might address that debate later but I'm sticking by the Tipsters, calling out politicos who can't tell the difference between public vs. private resources and noting that it's obvious that this effort has been aimed at the urban core and will continue to follow the same pattern that discriminates against every other part of Kansas City.
Anyhoo . . .
THE FACT IS THAT CLUB KC, HOT SUMMER NIGHTS, NIGHT HOOPS AND SO MANY OTHER YOUTH PROGRAMS HAVEN'T EVER WORKED TO THWART YOUTH VIOLENCE IN THE URBAN CORE AND WE'RE SIMPLY RECYCLING THE SAME STUPID IDEAS IN KANSAS CITY!!!
Sadly, there isn't a single politico in Kansas City who will admit that these programs do very little to keep the peace . . . And mainstream media remains mostly unquestioning amid a cycle of violence that persists without any innovative or new ideas.

Then even more money for Rec Centers, extra police and now whole cities all over America trying to raise the thug children that the parents are foisting off on society, which in turn are paid for by tax payers again.

Club KC, Night Hoops, etc. are simply to appease those who say the root of these disruptive teen mobs is that there is nothing to do and no safe place to go for urban youth.
ReplyDeleteThese efforts will most certainly fail, because they don't deal with the true root cause of this behavior (i.e. irresponsible parenting and the hip hop culture of violence and destruction).
Then, the powers that be will ask neighborhood organizations and the faith community to step in and help with the problem as well- for a modest fee, of course.
And urban pastors will purchase Escalades and Lexus', and build new additions for their churches.
Why should KC have to entertain these kids?

Then come back and report what you actually saw, instead of conjuring up images of "violent teen flash mobs" overrunning the place.
But then again, the truth about weekends on the Plaza wouldn't let you write you sure-fire, race-baiting posts about "violent teen flash mobs" that are sure to generate comments.
It might also help your credibility if you illustrated your next post about "violent teen flash mobs" with a photo of an actual "violent teen flash mob."

ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the days when these clueless "leaders" will be making the decisions about deploying the KCPD resources, i.e. local political control. Half of the city is north of the river and half of the city is south of the river, but over 90% of the police department's resources are in the southern half. After our leaders decide to have the PD start babysitting the Plaza, you folks in the northern half won't ever see a cop again.

The plaza is a mess. Some of the kids are okay but a lot of them are violent. What the liberal apologist @ 3;16 doesn't realize is that a lot of these kids fight with each other and what he's doing is putting them at risk so he can feel better about his own white guilt.

Now I'm not saying they didn't have a problem with kids hanging out there with nothing to do. But it seems to have been handled quite well through increased police presence, the curfew, and an alternative place for kids to go.
Again, you would only know how safe the Plaza is if you'd stop reading Tony and actually go there sometime.
But if you'd rather wet your diapers over problems that exist only in Tony's head and cower under your bed, then go right ahead.

And a couple of guys robbed a bank in Overland Park. I guess Johnson County isn't safe any more.
And since you can conjecture about unreported assaults, I'm sure there lots of unreported assaults in Gladstone, Liberty, Shawnee, Lenexa, Olathe, Blue Springs and certainly Independence.
I guess no place is safe. My, whatever will we do?
