Kansas City At The Center Of This Money Map

This NPR storty starts with Kansas City at the center of a dollar bill circulation map to more accurately reflect how communities are built.

It seems that the 4 state area is kind of an economic community:

"In this part of the U.S., money sloshes around a territory marked by Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, with the Mississippi river forming a border on the eastern edge. This hunk of America, in his view, is now an "effective community," a place where people-to-people business has a distinct flavor, distinct from neighboring regions. In other words, it's its own neighborhood."

I'm sure if they drilled down even further they would find all of this town's cash floating toward the Golden Ghetto of Johnson County and away from KCMO neighborhoods.
