These people whine no matter what. Look at Waldo. A new grocery store or a decaying building? Even if it's a Walmart the store will help property values and resale, but all people can do is whine about how Walmart is destroying life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
ReplyDeleteexactly the shitizens of the hell hole deserve what they get. The craziest part of the whole Walmart Neighboorhood Market in Waldo fiasco was that the main people complaining lived east of troost far from the proposed Store or the idiots like Hale Cook hypocrites who drive past Check-into cash places and tatoo palors, and liquor stores on Wornall and think nothing of yet get a on fucking high horse about a damn walmart and now complain that the building is empty wtf!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe issue is not Walmart. The issue is that wornall is already a decaying commercial street. We don't need more commercial property that will further erode existing retail that can barely sustain itself.
ReplyDeleteThe irony is that the district cannot give away property in the bad areas of town. When it comes to Bingham and Bryant, they want top dollar and nothing less. I suppose that's the district's way of sticking it to a part of the city that has long ago ceased to support the district.
Turn them into prisons for the fecal matter that KC considers its "youth".
ReplyDeleteTake a look at 20th & West Pennway. I forgot, it is ok to have blight there; it is the Westside. Do think this would exsist in Brookside.
ReplyDeleteThe vacant buildings have been turned into thriving charter schools.
ReplyDeleteRepurposing is far from a failure.
Sorry, meant to say "three vacant buildings".
