KANSAS CITY TALKS LOCAL CONTROL AND KCPD HOMICIDE CLEARANCE RATE!!!

Fox4 has a nice write up on last night's KCPD Forum of Chiefs.

Kansas City Insiders wonder if this is really the start of the local control discussion.

Also, this stat from the article was pushed toward the bottom but I think really needs to be highlighted:

"The city has dealt with 22 homicides so far this year and have cleared five."

We're still early in the year and there's a lot of time to boost the clearance rate . . . But it's also kinda scary:

RIGHT NOW IN KANSAS CITY THE ODDS ARE PRETTY GOOD FOR GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER!!!

This is a problem that doesn't just fall on police but also reflects a lack of cooperation with authorities from the community when it comes to speaking up and and helping to identify suspects.

DEVELOPING . . .

    Wow.

So let me get this right ... so far this year in Kansas City, of all murders that have occurred, only 23% of the murderers have been caught?

How many people with bad intent are actually ENCOURAGED by this systemic failure to go out and kill someone they want dead?

  2. Why Do We Even Have Police3/27/13, 8:45 AM

To generate revenue for the city thru DUI checkpoints and traffic tickets.

  3. Criminals don't consider consequences. That's why laws don't prevent crimes.

  4. 23 percent is all, KCPD can solve.
So your chances of getting caught for murder in KCMO is about 25 percent.

You have a 75 percent chance of getting away with murder.

That's because KCPD is too busy feathering their own retirement fund than doing their jobs. KCPD lacks the initiative to fight crime.
