    When I saw the 19 year sentence I figured it must have gone federal. You can kill people in Jackson County and not get 19 years. Plus 19 years in Jackson County would end up meaning 11 years, maybe.

    If the media ever wanted to get serious about crime, when they report these crimes they would play a game I call, "What was this guy doing out of prison in the first place?" The criminal histories of most of these turds would infuriate all but the most liberal among us. But hey, let's build an expensive train so the sheep and the wolves can mingle.

    The article clearly states SEVERAL times that this was a federal crime and sentenced to federal prison.

    Dear 8:39,

    Maybe you're right. See...here's what happened. I read the title of the article:

    "Man gets 19 years for using illegal firearm to threaten, beat woman"

    From that title, my mind immediately jumped to 2 conclusions before I even read the article:

    1)This crime most likely occurred in Jackson County (where the overwhelming majority of these violent crimes occur).

    2)For the offender to get a 19 year sentence, it was most likely handled in Federal Court.

    I then read the article and (wouldn't you know it) I was right on both counts.

    So eat a bag of dicks you petulant fuck.
