Vote Yes for Local Control.
ReplyDeleteAnd watch the city fuck up the PD like the school districts. What a great idea!!! If you don't think that corrupt shit will go on with city control your wrong.
ReplyDeleteWhat moron at the Star wrote that load of shit.
ReplyDeleteTommy Pendergast said: Now that sounds like a good idea to me.
ReplyDeleteOnly dept under state control and the only one that has to force its employees to live in their shitty city.
ReplyDeleteThe old and tiresome Tom Pendergast argument. Only KCPD could come up with a 1930's argument,in the age of Google. Times have changed. Makes you wonder how every other city in the USA has locale control but not Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteActually Federal Control might be the only real alternative

ReplyDeleteI work for a kansas city agency that is not the police department or fire department. I can tell you that if we had the choice to be under state control or city control in my department I would pick state control every time. The city is a disaster and it cannot control anything. My advice to the police department, do anything you can to stay under state control.
ReplyDeleteThe PD is under local control - all Board members are established KC residents. The only issue is they are picked by the Governor rather than the Mayor or City Council.
ReplyDeleteAs a State employee I would rather work for the City and not the State.
ReplyDeleteI think Local control is great for the Taxpayers.
