In celebration of Black History Month: "The NAACP Kansas City, Missouri Branch Black History Program, “At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality,” will discuss the Reconstruction-era new birth of freedom constitutional amendments ratified after the Civil War. They ended slavery, promised equality before the law and citizenship for all Americans born here, and promised the franchise to all men. A panel discussion will explore the gap between the promise and the practice, as well as note the most recent attacks on these rights."
