DeleteDear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info. Wash/DC, a city with at least 50% greater population than KCMO, has had 8 homicides so far in 2013--compared to 18 for KCMO. Notice to city's political class: Please stop insulting the intelligence of everyone in the city by pretending to believe that KCMO's crime disaster is due to national problems like lack of gun control, single mothers, poor schools, unemployment, etc. These national problems are not causing a crime disaster in DC--so there is no reason to believe that they are responsible for KCMO now five year long homicide surge in its black neighborhoods. I grew up in DC--it is a city that is 65% black and has lots of poor schools, single mothers, unemployment, etc--yet they have their crime problem under control. ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Tony: Just checked the homicide stats for NYC. NYC is a town with 16 times the population of KCMO--so far in 2013 they have had 38 homicides compared to 18 for KCMO.
