Biz Journal and Google Fiber Gets Another Bump: Kansas City Manager Troy Schulte confirmed Monday that Heartland Midwest LLC did not have a permit for drilling and excavation near the site where JJ’s Restaurant exploded on Feb. 19. Heartland was working as an independent contractor for Time Warner Cable Inc.
Kansas City Manager Troy Schulte confirmed Monday that he helped Michael Brooks steal $15,000.00 from Kansas City taxpayers and, with no oversight at all, handed it over to a known criminal.
ReplyDeleteHe did say that the contractor that may be responsible for JJ's becoming a BBQ joint featuring Crispy Dyke didn't have a permit, so what's $15K when you have a contractor with no permit?
Then he pointed to his really shiny shoes and said, "Ooooooh, Shiny!".
4:15 I'll grant you a lot of people dropped the ball here but there is no need to pile on the poor girl who was killed there. No, I don't know her but all she was doing was making a honest living. Pile on KCFD for not telling people to evacuate, MGE, or the contractor. They deserve it. Maybe someday that's your kid waiting tables.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Troy Schulte is a fucking loser. Has been since day one. He's a flunky and there only because he's physically imposing, nothing else. A classic cocksucker!
ReplyDelete4:15 is a piece of trash, so no point trying to make them have empathy for a fellow human being.
ReplyDeleteMayor nigger boy said they did! sue ALL their asses!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere must be a few of the Waynette gals still lurking about, posting crap about our City Manager, mad their homie got shown the door. Schulte is doing a good job in tough circumstances. Having 13 bosses is a tough gig.
ReplyDeletedont matter if they had a permit or not that doesnt excuse the fire dept passing the buck.
ReplyDeleteMegan turned her back on the LGBT community and that is why we had to for KCPride. I do not miss her.
ReplyDeleteNever turn your back to an LGBT.
ReplyDeleteOr bend over.
Statement from attorney representing Heartland Midwest:
ReplyDelete"Our company crew working near the vicinity of JJ's restaurant did not obtain the required city permit because it was.... 'boring' ."
They were too busy having a 'blast'!
Ba-da-boom Ba-da-bing!
Try and Google Heartland Midwest LLC They have shut down all exposure online that proves their existence which is a typical shady company that fucks someone over and runs when they get caught! Reminds me of of all the scams that come out of Nigeria!! Heartland Midwest is over and they know it so know they are running, they closed up shop and will move to the next cheap store front to set up their scam in another city or state, they are just working the system - I am sure this is not the first time they DIDN'T have a permit...just this time they killed someone and got caught!
ReplyDeleteBet the cost of the lawsuit Midwest is destine to endure for the deceased family and the restaurant they blew up will never get their money, after all if they couldn't put up the money for a permit I doubt they are up on their insurance premiums.
ReplyDeleteHeartland Midwest is NOT a shady company. They are well run & do great work. What you idiots don't know is that these utility line breaks from construction happen every single day. They don't end in explosion. I read earlier that they did apply for a permit before the construction but that the request had never been approved. BFD. All the permit is a piece of paper saying that KCMO got their money. There is NO oversight of the job site, location of utilities or anything of the sort.
ReplyDeleteWhy is the permit the focus? To take focus away from where it should be...on the shit response from MGE & KCFD. After the line was hit and reported, it was out of Heartland's hands. THERE is where the fault lies. If it had been handled right by the big boys, the explosion never would have happened. THAT was choice by those entities. Hitting the gas line was an accident
Here's a list of the executives from Heartland Midwest LLC that caused this disaster by violating the law:

11:36 nailed it, and the fact is that they reported the leak properly, and watched MGE fuck up the response. 12:43, you're just an asshole who attacks people personally behind a veil of anonymity. Coward.
ReplyDeleteDid they call digritght before digging? That is the question
ReplyDeleteYes, they did.
DeleteOh so Heartland Midwest is oh-so great a company that when they didn't get their permit they just said "screw it", didn't follow through, and started digging anyway?
ReplyDeleteMGE and KCFD have plenty of culpability here, but the fact is Heartland didn't obtain their permit, they violated the law by proceeding with the work without one and THEIR EMPLOYEE HIT THE GAS LINE!
It doesn't matter if Heartland thinks the permit process is valid or a good one. It's the one Heartland was supposed to follow and they didn't. If they aren't smart enough to complete the permit process, can they be trusted to dig near gas lines? The permit is part of the focus, along with MGE and KCFD, because it shows Heartland's ability to comply with the law and follow through with the process. And based on the JJ's incident, Heartland does a pretty poor job.
