KC Biz Journal update on a controversy that many think tarnishes the otherwise clean reputation of Kansas City's Congressman: Cleaver’s carwash nears sale — who is new owner?
Money line: Proposed owner is also a key witness in a wrongful death lawsuit involving the car wash; that trial is scheduled to start Feb. 4.

What a band of thieves!! Is there a legitimate individual among them??
ReplyDeleteDave Helling at least will help keep us up to date with the occasional story, otherwise the KC Falling Star gives Cleaver the "no-touch" carwash treatment.
ReplyDeleteThe Star's lack of coverage of this story is damned near criminal! Here's a sitting congressman, involved in a lawsuit which will eventually cost the taxpayers, and the "paper of record" won't even mention it??? Don't you wonder what our recourse is, as taxpayers???? I know I do!
ReplyDeleteWhen everything in this town is named after Congressman Cleaver, it's a tall order to force him to go through the same legal process as everyone else. It's called special interest. And, absolutely, its criminal behavior of all news media that virtually refuse to report on this story.
ReplyDeleteA City that works.
Just not for you.
Thanks 3:42 but I still dream of the day when somebody has balls enough to get this bastard...
ReplyDeletea day when men are judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
ReplyDeleteKit Bond ought to buy it. He is out of work. Carwash is a good business for a drunk.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise a "clean" reputation for Cleaver?
ReplyDeleteOnly in Tony's dreams.
Tony has a BS in sociology from UMKC. That makes him qualified to work in a carwash.
ReplyDeleteCleaver's college degree has been questioned before. With this latest example of his thieving, lying corruptness, I'm inclined to believe the rumors about his bogus degree.
ReplyDeleteWHEN will KC, in particular the black community call out Cleaver for being the crook he is??!!
SO... This ties Cleaver to Doc Worley and Citadel Plaza and the asbestos mess and the developers in jail.
ReplyDeleteNice going Rev! Only someone as crooked/stupid/greedy as you could take a decent car wash in a decent location that might have been worth a quarter of a mil, and jack up the debt on it to $1.6 million.
But then again, you are a congressman/politician. You are a professional crook.
