TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! TIPSTERS NOTE THAT MISSOURI DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP CONSPIRED AGAINST REP. JONAS HUGHES WITH OUTGOING GOP SPEAKER TILLEY!!!

First of all . . . For a really great perspective on Missouri GOP politics, take a look at a really informative and insightful interview with outgoing Missouri GOP Speaker Steve Tilley.

Now . . . Buried in this glimpse at GOP politics in the Show-Me State is a bit of news that would have gone otherwise unnoticed but STILL should impact Kansas City Democrats in a very profound way.

To wit . . .

THE GOP STEVE TILLEY EXIT INTERVIEW REVEALS THAT MISSOURI DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP WAS ACTIVELY WORKING AGAINST A REP. JONAS HUGHES DURING HIS ETHICS COMMISSION FLAP!!!

Here's the money line from Mr. Tilley . . .

"The Democrats called me when Jonas Hughes had his difficulties with ethics and everything and asked me to call for his resignation. I didn’t do that, and then four months later we are in a redistricting battle where I need four democrats to override the Governor’s veto. The same Democrats that wanted me to call for his resignation were the ones telling him, hey you need to stay on the team, you need to be with us. I was able to call him into the office and say listen Jonas, the same guys that tell you about team right now, were the same guys calling me and asking me to call for your resignation. Did you ever see that from my office? He was like, “no Steve, I didn’t”. I said that should tell you something.

"SEMO TIMES: How’d he vote?

"Tilley: He voted with us and that changed the dynamics in Missouri politics today. Russ Carnahan is no longer in politics because of redistricting."

Now . . . We know that Mr. Jonas Hughes isn't universally beloved in his own district but a bit of party loyalty isn't too much to expect.

More to the point . . .

AS OF LATE MISSOURI DEMOCRATS HAVE AN ABYSMAL RECORD WHEN IT COMES TO DIVERSITY AND THIS REPORT OF THE LEADERSHIP ACTIVELY WORKING AGAINST AN EASTSIDE ELECTED OFFICIAL IS A BOMBSHELL THAT MIGHT HAVE IMPLICATIONS FOR RELATIONS WITH THE MINORITY COMMUNITY!!!

Accordingly . . .

THIS CONFIRMS THE SUSPICION FOR MANY KANSAS CITY PEOPLE OF COLOR THAT KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATS OFTEN TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED!!!

In an election year . . . This perception is dangerous and might also create further tensions down the road.

DEVELOPING . . .

  2. Jonas Hughes. The guy just doesn't sound smart. Is he the best the district can do? Really? If so, sad. Very sad.

  3. Mike Talboy should be ashamed.

  4. Poor calculation by liberals. It cost them during redistricting. Good for Mr. Hughes

  5. Jonas Hughes missed so many votes HIS OWN PARTY REMOVED HIM FROM COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS. And true to form, he as absent from the veto session and missed an opportunity to prevent an override.
He has been fined numerous times by the MEC and couldn't even be seated during a great deal of the session because he hadn't paid his fine.
He is the poster boy of incompetence, and complete lack of any consideration of the interests of his constituents.
So in the best tradition of KCMO east side politics, what's he going to run for next?

  6. Democrats have nobody to blame for redistricting but Mike Talboy. What a tragedy.

  7. Dare I declare this a piece of actual journalism?

  8. The MEC is being lobbied by some Democrats... well, Kiki Curls, to downplay the Freedom hot mess. MEC, did they kick the file to the State Attorney General's office when Freedom didn't pay the fine? Is there a September 26 deadline looming for Freedom to get with Koster's office? Are there enough funds in Carol Beatty's coffers to cover the fine? Did Beatty pay Freedom's last pay roll?
Tony, good work keeping this blog up and functioning!

  9. Mike Talboy was far too busy building his name to worry about trivial things like being loyal.

  10. Although it is a bit curious though. The Star reported Talboy was the only one to actually give money to Jonas Hughes when he was in the middle of that trouble to help him pay off the fines.

  11. Tilley only mentioned Democrats called, not anything about leadership. More likely that Gov. Jay may have been who was calling.

  12. Talboy and jonas are friends, but jonas screwed the pooch, talboy didnt want to call out his friend so he asked tilley to do what needed to be done. Tilley saw an opportunity for leverage and used it to cost a dem seat in congress. End of story. Its politics and its messy.

  13. Talboy, Rizzo, and the Jackson County slate of sluts and crooks were against Jonas. Tony, you should have seen this and rallied against it. Even when you were wasting all your time bitching about the Rizzo Royster flap (Royster was right about Rizzo) you should have spent more time on how hypocritical the JACO party is, and especially against Jonas.

  14. Shut up, Chris.

  15. nobody cares about Jonas.

  16. ChrIs Moreno stop with comments loser.

  17. Jonas was and is a sellout ,this story just verifys it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hughes is just another NIGGER, in way too far over his nappy head. Too stupid to know how to do his job and too black to care.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Only reason this got reported at all is because a cricket got culled. We are talking about Democrats here, people. Their 'core values' are nonexistent unless they're playing to the crowd they hope will vote for them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ironic! This article criticizes the actions of House Democrats Leadership but never mentions Talboy because Tony has been promoting him as the second coming. Tony, you created this. Let's hope your latest creation Big Red won't do the same thing.

  21. Jonas is a piece of crap and he couldn't get elected dog catcher. Good for Democrats that they got rid of him. He's useless.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Mike Talboy is a piece of shit.

    ReplyDelete
  23. IF ONLY THEY WOULD WORK AGAINST KIKI CURLS AS WELL...SHE IS WORTHLESS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Good to see Moreno is back. Chris, what will you run for next? We need your leadership now more than ever.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would vote for Moreno. He is smart and knows how the game is played. He just won't kiss Garza', Sherwood Smith, big labor and Bridgette William's ass.

Moreno is a stand up person that should be in officer more so than the dummies in office from Jackoff County.
