TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! SEN. CLAIRE McCASKILL AND HER SUPPORTERS QUICKLY DECLARE VICTORY IN FIRST DEBATE WITH REP. TODD AKIN!!!

The debate hasn't even been over an hour and already Friday Mainstream media and Sen. Claire supporters are out in full force declaring her a winner in the contest.

Sen. McCaskill was "aggressive" in touting her "moderate" credentials. For the most part we hear the Rep. Todd Akin equally feisty but kinda unconvincing.

In Candidate Forum, McCaskill Provides Clear Contrast Between Her Moderate Record and Akin's Extreme Policies

Over next six weeks, campaign will discuss Akin's extreme positions on wide variety of issues

Columbia, Mo. — McCaskill for Missouri Campaign Manager Adrianne Marsh released the following statement today after the Missouri Press Association candidate forum:

"Today's candidate forum once again provided Missourians with a clear choice between Claire McCaskill, a fiercely independent Senator on our side, and Todd Akin, whose extreme positions would leave working families out in the cold. Over the next six weeks, we fully intend to make sure all Missourians have a very clear understanding of Todd Akin's positions—including his plans to privatize Medicare and Social Security, eliminate federal student loans, abolish the minimum wage and end the federal school lunch programs. Today's debate once again offered a window into Todd Akin's mind and true beliefs, and we look forward to discussing more of his extreme positions."

In her closing statement, Claire emphasized her strong record of putting Missourians first and working across the aisle to find commonsense solutions at the table of compromise. Unlike her opponent, Claire does not believe compromise is a dirty word, and she is proud to have worked with Republican colleagues like Sens. Sessions, McCain, Blunt, and Rubio in order to reach bipartisan compromise on issues that Missourians care about. Throughout today's debate, she emphasized her credentials as among the most moderate U.S. Senators, willing to buck her party when necessary to be on the side of Missouri families.

  1. What are Todd Akin's views on unsolicited bulk e-mail?

  2. Claire: You're not a moderate, despite your claims.

  3. Mary is tired of being sold out by DINOs9/21/12, 1:28 PM

She talks about how important things are and then promises to compromise it all away to the Radical Right.

Why am I supposed to vote for her?

  4. Dine did well on his opening and closing statements but he was a bit rough on the unrehearsed stuff. Too bad they won't let him into the televised debates. He'll only get better. Akin sounded disoriented. 'Hard to believe he's been in politics for long. Claire needs a coach. She must have been led to believe there was a prize for cramming the most words into her time allotment. Overall, I was disappointed with such a lack of polish on the part of the R and the D.

  5. So I guess Akin isn't going to win after all. Such a poor performance.

  6. We need Claire's vote in the senate to deprive the Party of NO an ability to filibuster legislation Americans need to get passed.

If we can't get a decent Congress that puts America before political party, well what good are they?

Kansas City area people should also vote for Democrat Kyle Yarber in NW missouri/northland and get rid of Samuel Graves-- just another big business yes-man for his GOP party in the HOUSE of Reps.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Graves is a crook but Yarber is weird.

Claire says yes to the yes men of big business far too often.

    We are fucked.

  8. Dunno what's weird about Yarber... just a family guy and no, he doens't look like your garden variety politician. I've met the guy and heard him. He ain't so bad. He'll be green but he won't vote in lockstep with the Republican leadership. And wouldn't owe his election and his funding to the Koch Brothers and their weird libertarian views.

I don't think we're fucked, if Obama wins and we get a better Democratic pad in the Senate. Isolate John Boehner in the House.

Remember, they have to run every 2 years in the House. And if they obstruct again, without having the Senate to blame, well they might look pretty lonely in 2014 when they run for reelection without a presidential race to overshadow them!

Obama's smarter now, I think he's learning how to armtwist. He was pretty naive starting out, as a new guy WOULD be.

  9. The Committee to Keep Yarber Campaigning in his District (unofficial)9/21/12, 2:01 PM

If I see Yarber down here at Democratic fundraisers (not to benefit him) rather than working his district again, I am going to send pictures to this an other blogs so that no Democratic contributor will waste another dime on him. YOUR VOTERS ARE IN YOUR DISTRICT KYLE.

Please help me in this endeavor. Take pictures of Kyle every time you see him out of his district between now and the election.

Kyle you have fallen in love with being the candidate. Stop that. Run for office.

    We are watching YOU.

  10. Dine is Akin's biggest threat because he sounds like a reasonable alternative. He represents my views on marriage equality and marijuana legalization. I would vote for him but my priority, like many in Missouri, is the full repeal of Obamacare.

  11. Doctor Weiss9/21/12, 3:08 PM

There is a name for the psychological condition which troubles Mr. Yarber: The Permanent Candidate Syndrome.

The patient feels the compulsion to see the same 25 people three or four times a week in close proximity to Costco spiral sandwiches or Geno's pizza-bites. The afflicted might also long to hear tired old inquiries about "how the campaign is going?" In later stages of the disorder, the patient mumbles "yard signs don't vote" over and over again.

The condition is chronic and incurable.

  12. I can get all of your balls in my mouth at one time!

  13. Doctor Weiss, put on your big girl panties and just say it.

In Jackson County it is known as The Bullard Syndrome.

  14. Akin couldn't help it as soon as he got in front of the microphone his body involuntarily generated an abortion.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That old bag is a liberal as you are TKC. What a crock.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Actually, if Claire is winning the race she seemed awfully desperate for an incumbent. Leaders don't attack their opponents.
And for her to say she is a moderate is laughable. She is far, far left.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Examples please, how Claire is 'far, far left'? I don't really know what that means other than the People's Republic of China....and even THEY are embracing capitalism to some extent.

It's a serious question. Show us the courtesy, 5:06, of telling us what you mean...or are you just repeating what you heard, because you're a Republican?

I've never seen her be really off the wall. Moreover, she ain't no Jane Fonda, is she?

  18. Graves district goes all the way to 50 hwy in Lee's Summit, through Blue Springs and Buckner, Sibley even. Say hi to Turk when you knock on his door, since he lives in Graves district now.so if you see Yarber out there, he is in his district!

  19. I love Todd Akin

    ReplyDelete
  20. I would be working hard for Claire if she were liberal or left wing. I am not. I will just vote for her.
