Posing as police officer
A 30-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with a south Kansas City robbery in which a victim says he posed as a police officer, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Aaron M. Hall (DOB: 1/2/1982) faces Robbery 1st Degree, Kidnapping and Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court records, a female victim told police that the suspect had arranged to meet her at a hotel on East 105th Street on Aug. 19, 2012. Upon arrival, he identified himself as “Special Agent” and told her she was being arrested for prostitution. He placed her in cuffs and took money, cell phone and a laptop computer. Police determined, through phone records, that she had been called by a phone belonging to Hall, who was then identified by the victim.
This case, filed earlier this month under seal, remains under investigation; more charges may be filed. The case was unsealed today.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000 cash.
