TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! RAMPANT KANSAS CITY SPENDING FAILS TO PREPARE FOR UPCOMING (ONGOING) 2013 RECESSION SAYS TOP LEVEL ECONOMIST!!!

As the weather gets colder in Kansas City, we're reminded of the preparation that almost every form of life takes for harsh times.
Sadly, Mayor Sly and the City Council have been on an EPIC spending spree that defies logic and fails to understand financial reality. As increasing financial doom and gloom become a consensus among most people who know about this stuff, local government officials continue to hide their heads under the sand and put their wallets in the air at the behest of special interests. While there's no longer accountability to voters at City Hall, creditors aren't quite as easy to ignore. As smart people begin to prepare for a worsening financial situation in the U.S., Kansas City local government and our Dead Tree Media conspire to keep the voting public blissfully unaware of the upcoming 2013 recession.
However . . .
RECENTLY TKC INTERVIEWED AN UPPER ECHELON KANSAS CITY ECONOMIST REGARDING CITY HALL FINANCES THAT HAVE FAILED TO PREPARE FOR THE UPCOMING RECESSION!!!
The facts were startling, somewhat terrifying and made me fear for my snack cake supply here in my (mom's) basement.
The money quote . . .
"If you look at City Hall spending on your 'Toy Train', the upcoming hotel and so much borrowing that's mostly focused these nebulous infrastructure improvement efforts, you'll see a set of leaders who seem completely unaware of the coming financial hardships that are soon to face so many U.S. municipalities. Smaller, smarter cities are focused on paying down debt and belt tightening while the majority of Kansas City's legislative agenda seems to be predicated on an outdated tax and spend ideology."
Check just a few links regarding the recession that Kansas City Dead Tree Media would rather ignore . . .

While low voter turnout, our love of polite talk and a beautiful smile will prevent much discussion of these facts . . .
GET READY FOR BAD FINANCIAL NEWS ABOUT THE UPCOMING LOCAL IMPACT OF THE (ONGOING) RECESSION TO PROVIDE A STARK CONTRAST TO THE FREE SPENDING OF KANSAS CITY'S POLITICAL LEADERSHIP!!!
In other words, a slew of bad biz magazine press will soon be in store for Kansas City regarding our lack of financial leadership and preparation.

ReplyDelete"top economist" and "interviewed by TKC" are mutually exclusive.
ReplyDeleteEverybody knows there's going to be a 2013 recession. Doesn't matter if Star won't report it.
ReplyDeleteHe's a top level economist because tony's a bottom.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'm glad that the local news isn't all doom and gloom. That's not always the best way to report.
ReplyDeleteRight Tony? ;)
Is the top economist named anywhere?
ReplyDeleteSome of the KCMO elected officials are at this very moment in Austin, Texas Chamber junkets to try to discover how they canmake KCMO just like another town while not changing what or how they currently behave or perform in any way.
ReplyDeleteFor instance, does Austin have a city government with elected officials who actully spend some time and foucs on municipal issues?
If the answer is yes, then it has nothing in common with KCMO.
And if you bring yet another out-of-toen program home and grat it onto the swirling dysfunction at 12th and Oak, it will be ignored and will die just like the other dozens of time that's been tried.
By the way, how's the crime-fighting NoVa program coming?
Anybody?
If you want to see how bad things really are look at the number of businesses that move just across the state line. Kansas realized that this is a dog fight and is winning. Just to add some fuel to the fire. The people is Jeff City do not care for even woory about Kansas City. St. Louis or Columbia get a majority of state funds. Do not believe me. Compare KC highways to STL highways. STL just had Highway 40 ripped up and re-done including all the bridges. KC will become Detroit.
ReplyDeleteKc will go bust and the walls will come tumbling down.
ReplyDeleteIn fact I look for many cities to fail in the next year or two.
I mean face it the same idiots running the cities are the same idiots who are defaulting on their own personal loans. Hence the carwash king or who thinks he is Cleaver.
I lived in Austin for four long hot years, and all I can say is please don't make us like Austin. It's one of this country's most overrated cities.
ReplyDeleteTwo words: water department. We're fucked!
ReplyDeleteYes Kansas City has over spent, yes there will be a recession.
ReplyDeleteDon't need an economist to tell you that.
