Kansas City political insiders have told us that MO State Sen. Jolie Justus has been anointed as Ms. Marcason's successor and Jan is expected to all but sign over the seat to her. Sessy! This example of Kansas City Political "Girl Power" would be an important gesture in reaffirming Democratic Party commitment to upwardly mobile white women.

UNDER THE RADAR (LOLZ), KANSAS CITY LATINO POWER BROKER JOHN FIERRO HAS GARNERED SOME IMPORTANT SUPPORT!!!



Former Kansas City Parks Board President John Fierro has a great many important friends and a vast network of non-profit community contacts throughout the region.

Now . . .

This early match-up is noteworthy for a lot of reasons but here are the two most important this morning . . .

Kansas City political insiders remind us that Sen. Jolie Justus lucked her way into office and isn't the political powerhouse her supporters would like to believe . . .

Regarding Mr. Fierro . . . Latinos are generally the least favored minority in Kansas City for a lot of reasons including but not limited to our aversion to rigid timelines and love of white women.

Furthermore . . .

THE FIGHT FOR AN EARLY CLAIM TO THE 4TH DISTRICT IS ALREADY GETTING CROWDED AND NASTY ACCORDING TO KANSAS CITY POLITICAL INSIDERS!!!

This in-district contest is always the most heated and fierce competition in Kansas City because there's not a lot to distinguish between the Democrats ruling class in this part of town. In the end the allegedly "non-partisan race" all comes down to personality, connections and a complex array of secretly held vendettas, prejudices and stereotypes.

So, given the proud demographic background of this first set of contenders it looks like the contest will be NOTHING LESS THAN AN EPIC TKC CHUCKLE-FEST!!!

And these aren't the only two politicos who are in this race already with two years left to go . . .

    Jolie has done nothing in Jeff City. Marcason's ONLY reason she is supporting Justus is because Justus has two X chromosomes, making Marcason a total sexist.

    Say what you want about Fierro but he has contributed. He's doing a good job on the Port Authority. He brought a rejuvenated park to 9th and Van Brunt. The Mattie Rhodes organizations contribute to their neighborhoods. Fierro didn't take the bait with Semler; he kept his cool and stood by the mayor, which is what he should have done. And he did what few others could ever do...he almost kept Crazy Aggie Stackhaus under control for four years and didn't even use a cattle prod.

    Fierro gets my vote.
