Fitness Model Pauline Nordin inspires this collection and ranking of Kansas City Power Players during an important week . . . Take a look . . .
POLITICOS

1. Sen. Claire McCaskill - She won her first debate today or at least her elite and rather powerful campaign put the word out and provided pressers to prove as much this afternoon.
2. Mayor Sly James - Despite behind the scenes complaints. His construction presser was well received and his sway among the media that nixes most critical questions is the strongest a local Mayor has seen in years.
3. Jackson County Legislator Dan Tarwater - Another Eastern Jack contender to replace County Exec. Mike Sanders.
4. Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Circo - She's leading the push for a Downtown Kansas City Hotel and still continues to remind people of her high ranking title.
5. City Council Dude Scott Taylor - For a presser that was attended by NO MEDIA OTHER THAN CHANNEL 2 he has alienated a great many among City Staff with a rather strong crackdown on their working life that most regard as micro-managing.
NEWSIES

Bob Fescoe - The EPIC rant of this sports newsie agianst The Kansas City Chiefs created a stir throughout the sports world.
Ivan Foley - A STRONG Northland News force.
John Landsberg - Kansas City's Media referee who often is forced to make a great many difficult calls.
Ramsey Mohsen - A regular on TV and one of this town's top tech dudes.
Kris Ketz - The most tech savvy anchor in Kansas City.
KANSAS CITY POLITICAL ELITE
Dan Cofran - This Citizens Association leader inspires strong feelings and his effort to earn sponsorship for the group is a move that has drawn some powerful objections.
Herb Kohn - The most politically connected lawyer in Kansas City who showed some muscle this week by making Sprint Center assurances regarding an upcoming new owner who may or may not live up to an already existing contract.
Will Royster - Don't count out this Kansas City Northeast politico who seems to remain involved in his neighborhood.
Aggie Stackhaus - Your favorite Kansas City political lady is already making alliances for the next election.
CCO - Probably the strongest progressive group in Midtown Kansas City.
As always, this list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people.
Maybe Claire won but that might not translate to the election.
ReplyDeleteWhat about CCP or GKCWPC?
ReplyDeleteNever see them outside their forums.
ReplyDeleteTarwater is from the westside of Jackson County
ReplyDeleteKansas City Politicos. A complete failure of leadership and ignorance triumphs yet again in Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteTKC KICK ASS BREAKING NEWS!
ReplyDeleteWal-Mart's to hire 50,000 for holiday season
Gee, The same old hacks, no wonder KC is so messed up...
ReplyDeleteRoyster???? Bat-shit crazy Will Royster??? Lost by one vote, cry in my beer, Chris "Lyin sack o shit" Moreno managed Will Royster? THAT Will Royster? WIll Royster who's dad had serious criminal connections in the Kansas City mob...THAT Will Royster?
ReplyDeleteLook closely at the cheerleaders photos. Will ROYSTER LIVES!
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:56, the good thing about working at Wal-Marts is that you will be eligible for food stamps. In fact, the University of Pittsburgh proved that whenever a Wal-Mart opens up in a new area, the number of people on food stamps increases.
ReplyDeleteClaire does not know what she wants to be when she grows up. Dangerous spot for her and Scott Brown to be in during a "choice election."
ReplyDeleteHerb Kohn aka the con man. Jew. Lawyer. That's all you need to know. Just like that great civic leader Arthur Benson.
ReplyDeleteGive it a rest on the Jewish crap. Don't give us all an insight into your failed life.
ReplyDeleteThe Nazis lost. Get over it.

ReplyDeleteThat whole organization will end badly in bankruptcy court.
CCP does nothing anymore after their screening, but one mailing does not impact an election. Until they bring in someone with campaign management experience -- not a paid consultant -- they whither away.
ReplyDeleteFor that matter the same is true for the Jackson County Democratic Committee.
The Greater KC Women's Political Caucus collapsed under the weight of greed. They chose money ( a trust fund) over equality when they gave into the nationals who told them that male candidates who supported equality did not merit endorsement. That is why the Torch Dinner used to pull 1100 attendees and now they ADVERTISE 300 attendees -- and ads lie.
Jewish crap. What an elegant way to describe Messrs
ReplyDeleteKohn and Benson. One is partly responsible for fucking up downtown and the other is partly responsible for fucking up the school district. Good thing those aren't amenities that people consider when looking for a place to live or locate a business.
Speaking of bat-shit crazy, fat Aggie Stackhouse? The stinky ole bitch who tries to dress like a teenager and act cool to blacks, but secretly despises them? The kooky old crone who turned 55,000 people against her with one stupid quote in a paper? One of the nuttiest council members and most offensive park commissioners in history. She has zero political future. She can't even get on the board of MainCor. She sends flowers to herself and signs Jim Nutter's name to the card, that's how far gone she is.
ReplyDeleteThe Torch Dinner is on its way to losing money again. I wonder if the GirlPower Tag Team of Theresa Garza and Crystal Williams will make drunk ass jokes about men again this year as they drive a once great political organization into the stone wall of bigotry? By destroying the caucus they have denied Claire McCaskill a GOTV tool which might cost her the election.
ReplyDeleteCofran is still trying to convince himself that he won that Mayoral race.
ReplyDeleteAggie Stackhouse? Wow. Her name came up during a phone conversation. I thought it was just silly talk but she must be floating her name for a possible candidate for council. That dog won't hunt.
ReplyDelete8pm must be Johnny Jo Rizzo - the most Royster-phobic person in the world. Keep your coke-snorting, dick sucking head down, John, Royster isn't your problem
ReplyDeletewrong, 8pm is me
ReplyDeleteYou guys all sound like you've spent too much time with your own thoughts in prison.
ReplyDeleteWow, Tony - a positive Royster comment? Have you seen the light?
ReplyDeleteAggie is floating her name in a desperate attempt to be relevant? Jim must be at the Lake drinking...again.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much dislike appears when the public meets someone who will tell you what they think and not back down to pressure. Aggie Stackhouse has never been involved in any of the obvious corrupt practices found daily in K. C. She has given thousands of hours of her time to charities, and thousands of dollars to worthy charities. The simple fact that she didn't feel that the city should pay for or be put in charge of cleaning up other peoples mud destruction or other peoples dog poop, really pissed off a few very vocal citizens. If she runs for office again I and a lot of other honest people will vote her into what ever office she runs for. And she will win because there are a lot more of us then there are of you.
ReplyDeleteDitto
ReplyDeleteRoyster may not be out but what is that court case pending for 11/9/12 all about
