KCK Lady Can't Get Gun Back After Judge Dismisses Weapons Charge Against Her

Fox4 reports on a firearm legal dispute: Across The State Line a lady "just wants her gun back. But the Wyandotte County resident says that even though a judge dismissed a gun case against her a month ago, Kansas City Kansas Police still won’t return her gun to her."

  1. If I take something that belongs to someone else, it's called stealing. When the police do it, it's called, uh, I don't know.

  2. The owner may have a legal disability that makes it unlawful for her to possess a firearm.

If not, she simply needs to serve the city government with a replevin order. They will then be forced to appear in District Court to defend their refusal to return her property.

My guess is that they will simply return it before the hearing.
