Check a mainstream media newsie disagreement today regarding embattled Missouri Senate Candidate Todd Akin.
While we've repeatedly linked to national newsies noting that the Akin camp is old and busted and out of cash.
In Missouri there's a glimmer of hope . . . Or not.
Earlier today KMBC's Mike Mahoney broke news of a group announcing a quarter mill worth of support for Akin . . .
Conservative Group, Freedom Defense Fund, to Spend $250K in Missouri Senate Race
A few minutes later The Star's Dave Helling finished lunch and noted that the group doesn't have that kind of cash in the bank according to finance reports . . .
"If the group has that much to invest in the race, it will have raised virtually all of it in the last 60 days, federal records suggest. As of July 18, Freedom's Defense Fund had $128,148 cash on hand, according to FEC records. But it also owed $116,064, leaving roughly $12,000 in the bank."
In the final analysis . . . Once again it seems that Todd Akin can only bring discord and angst among any constituency.
Even worse . . .
FAKING CAMPAIGN CASH OR GETTING CAUGHT UP IN SOMEBODY ELSE FAKING IT REVEALS THAT TODD AKIN IS EXCEEDINGLY DESPERATE . . . BUT WE ALREADY KNEW THAT!!! BUT THE BLUFF STILL HURTS AKIN IN THE LONG RUN!!!
So, in the end not much has changed . . .
Nearly unbelievable GOP incompetence has handed a race to exceptionally politically vulnerable Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill who everybody expected to lose.
DEVELOPING . . .
Just sent in my donation today.
ReplyDeleteClaire you spent the last six years kissing conservatives' collective asses in order to win re-election and where did that get you Claire?
ReplyDeleteAs the election approaches, you are going to need to win this on Democratic votes alone Claire.
You would be in better shape if you had served as a Democrat all along -- instead of whatever it was that you tried to be.
I voting akin and I have all my teeth.
ReplyDelete"I voting akin"
ReplyDelete'Nuff said, Einstein.
I least I recognize sarcasm
ReplyDeleteKind of hard to recognize sarcasm these days, so apologies for missing it. Today's Republican party has gone so batshit crazy, it's hard to even tell if stories about them are true or from the Onion.
ReplyDeleteDave Helling is probably out of money if he just bought lunch.
ReplyDeleteLibyan ambassador died, Obama lied...
ReplyDeleteBut that Akin guy is just SO HORRIBLE.
Zzzzzzzz.
It is a two step process.
ReplyDelete1. Hold nose.
2. Vote AGAINST McCaskill.
Let the Akin supporters, support. Keeps em off the street!
