Fox4: "The family of a murdered AT&T technician can’t help but wonder if he’d be alive today if rescuers had gotten to him sooner."
TKC Reminder . . . There has been a bit of conversation on this topic in some of the comments regarding this story. The consensus on this blog seems to be that calling 9-1-1 would have been a better move than waiting on customer service . . . Which should provide a teaching moment for other late night local workers.

William Mashburn--wow what a good guy he is, in spite of what he's been through. His father's legacy.
ReplyDeleteYes, it would have been better. UNLESS he could not find his phone after having the living CRAP beaten out of him.
ReplyDeleteWhat's AT&T's policy regarding CCW? Don't leave home without it.

ReplyDeleteHis face was smashed in with a crowbar. He couldn't talk. His airway was so damaged and full of blood that the paramedics couldn't even intubate him.
ReplyDeleteWell it's a very sad event no doubt. And his head injuries might have lead him to make bad choices.
ReplyDeleteSo sad a person can't even go to work anymore without some thug trying to kill or rob them.
Plain to see why service with AT&T sucks so bad. They can't even provide their employees with the right equipment to protect themselves. Utility personal who work alone in the middle of the night in this day and age should all have a medical or help needed alert devices on them at all times thats GPS operated. Trust me this could be done very easy for all workers who are out there alone at night, and should be done.
+1
ReplyDelete7:28 If thats true then the ATT person he texted holds significant responsibility for his death. If I were his family I would go after ATT for MILLIONS!!!
