Rep. Todd Akin didn't want to get out of his race against Claire McCaskill. He's counting on Missouri antipathy toward Prez Obama's best lady friend to power the possibility of a win.
There is little argument that Mr. Akin has been incompetent and unlikeable while blundering an overwhelming lead in the GOP struggle to take back the Senate. Consider: Very much like GOP Prez Candidate Mitt Romney, NOBODY but the most fringe and reactionary voters will admit to "believing" in Todd Akin or his potential as a leader. He's merely a response to something or someone people despise. In a very real sense, Todd Akin's campaign is only fueled by hate.
And so we slouch toward election season in Missouri with the GOP led by a politico their national leadership has disavowed. Polls suggest that the contest could be close as even a fractured GOP might agree that THEIR unlikeable and backward leader is better Sen. Claire McCaskill. And all of this should remind us why most people have stopped voting.

Don't overlook the religious right. They could decide this thing.
ReplyDeleteThey can. And Claire has done absolutely nothing over six years to motivate people to get out and vote for her. Akin will win.
ReplyDeleteAgree with both of the above. The hicks and the nuts will put him in.
ReplyDeleteShe is wrong to focus on her lady parts when fighting this guy. That might make the Girl Power caucus happy, but his opposition to Social Security and Medicare will turn out more voters.
ReplyDeleteHome Schoolers are the dumbest load of shit ever dumped on this country, and they work hard everyday to shield their many offspring from reason. They will walk through fire for that idiot.
sorry for you folks out there. To blame the home schooled, the religous taliban schooled, or any-one else is a mode of projection of id.
ReplyDeletePersonally, she will lose, I wish her to win. She will lose because the county clerks, wish her to lose. They control the voting machines, and access to them.
Fewer websites are covering this issue. Remember a "foreign" company controls the code for the elections in the United States. They will now determine who wins.
As always itsnot who votes in the election, but who counts the votes in an election that counts. In the US of A there is voter fraud, And no one will do a thing about it.
Since when is incompetence and being unlikeable disqualifying from being in an elected position? In fact, Aiken is ALREADY in Congress.
ReplyDeleteIf you spend any time in rural Missouri you'd find that Aiken wil probably win.
Aiken will likely win, proving once again how backward and ignorant our State is, what a national embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteClair isn't working nearly hard enough.
What's he hiding under that combover?
ReplyDeleteHere is another point as to why she will lose missouri.

Akin is in full agreement with his party's platform--no abortion for any reason.
ReplyDeleteClaire needs to pull in 40-45% in the boothill, and then carry the I-70 corridor. KC-Columbia-StL. You know, where the educated live. The inbred ozarks are a lost cause, along with the Billy Long represented Springfield area. All the Dems will do OK in the Joplin region, since they needed so much gov't assistance and are moochers after the tornado. Please help me, my house is gone. What lazy bunch of welfare queens who will now vote dem.

ReplyDeleteSweet Jesus it is funny. Or sad.

Anyone but Claire.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Akin, but I don't like Claire even more, so I vote for Akin.
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire for gifting us with a Healthcare plan..we will be forced to purchase..fined if we don't..that purportedly covers 10 million more people without..adding a single new doctor..yet provides for 16,000 new IRS agents..written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it..passed by a congress who did not read it but exempted themselves from it..signed by a president who smokes..with funding administered by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes..forwhich we will be taxed for 4 years before any benefits take affect..by the Goverment who has already bankrupt Social Security and Medicare..all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese..and financed by a country that is BROKE!!! Thank you Claire
ReplyDeleteWe should have gone for a single payer health care plan. All we are doing is doubling down on the existing system
ReplyDeletewhat a loon.
ReplyDeletesingle payer would have been better but Claire "compromised."
ReplyDeleteRomney Ryan, or Ryan Romney, or whatever. They're toast.
ReplyDeleteSad to say but I believe we are the TOAST.
