If Kansas City opponents in this dispute play their cards right, they could be on Fox News yelling at Bill O'Reilly by the end of the week.
To wit . . . Check a recent right wing blogger post informing us . . .
"The leadership of the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City have launched an online petition campaign for President Obama to back a bill to limit the free speech of American citizens they deem offensive."
While TKC Supports Free Speech First And Foremost . . .
It's also important to realize that this petition doesn't represent a serious threat to the free speech of ANYONE and probably reveals that recent immigrants have trouble understanding the complexities of American government and political representation.
So, for the moment, I'm gonna take it on faith that Kansas City Muslim Leaders can't take away my right to mock people who still cling to their superstitions. And while they probably deserve a bit of criticism, adding up the crazy things done by a few people in Kansas City Muslim Leadership still doesn't make the group as dangerous as a few of the more notable local Catholic Priests.

People slam the Catholic Church early and often; you don't see Catholics burning down embassies. If Muslims don't understand the "complexities" of free speech, they ought to educate their flock. But don't get your panties in a wad because someone from a group you don't like very much puts up an online petition you don't like either.
It reveals far more about you than it does about them.

ReplyDeleteTony you couldn't be more wrong. Free speech is an absolute essential for any free society. I don't see any movement to limit criticism of Christianity. At some point Muslims need to be told to get the fuck over it. We use satire and criticism on everything in this country. Just because they get their panties in a bunch doesn't mean they get to opt out. This restriction to free speech is a huge threat to our freedom. The petitioner should not only be told no but Hell no and go Fuck yourself.

If Islamics have a problem with that, then seriously they need to find someplace else to live. This wouldn't be the place where the would be comfortable.
Asking Americans to change the way We live to appease ISLAMICS is absurd. It would be like moving to the mideast and asking Islamics THERE to be tolerant. They'd laugh us right into their prison system!

Tony really soft cuddled that one.... It should be noted TONY, if you go to your friend MD Rabbi Alam's "MD4US" facebook page, you can see he also signed the petition. He did get 40,000 votes for Missouri Secretary of State, right?
Tony does not get it yet, only time will tell if he is right or not about there being nothing worth looking at here.
ISGKC also works with Viva Palestina to raise money for HAMAS via George Galloway, but that would probably not interest Tony.
Everyday, and every hour Islam is in the news, in every country.... but not in the USA says Tony.
