We know that a recently passed away Kansas City blogger has a lot of loved ones who occasionally check out this dump of a blog, so we're not gonna name check him.
However . . .
SHAME ON THE KANSAS CITY STAR'S MIDWEST VOICES FOR NOT EVEN MENTIONING THE PASSING OF ONE OF THEIR TOP CONTRIBUTING COLUMNISTS!!!
Look through their lame bloggy opinion page and you won't see even a small post marking the passing of a man who had contributed his work to the paper FOR YEARS!!!
I've heard as much from former Star workers as well . . . It really is a cold corporation over there disguised as a "community" journalism endeavor. Sad thing is, they're playing a losing numbers game because nobody wants to pay top dollar for advertising they can get cheaper on Google AND their Dead Tree advantage is fading away faster every day.
So, it would have been nice if they would have shown a bit of class an honored a person who gave freely of his talents and helped to build their online presence. Instead their content mill keeps running without a pause and unmoved by the lives of people in their own community.
Dead on right on this one, Tony. Can't imagine anyone would argue. How could they not aknowledge his death in the same forum they shared his writing?
ReplyDeleteI will NEVER post on a paper's website for this very reason. I'll give it to a blogger for free but FUCK THE STAR.
ReplyDeleteHow is it paying off a $200 Million white elephant? By screwing everyone except the investment bankers.
Well said 7:27....WELL SAID!
ReplyDeleteHell yes they are a cold bunch of assholes. I mean they hired Steve Rose what do you expect out of them?
ReplyDeletewhat is it with you and the Star?
ReplyDeletewhy do you have such a boner to dump on them?
it's really sad. pathetic. pitiful.
do what you do. let them do what they do. why do you care?
what a sad little man.
ReplyDeleteyou get most of your material from them but dump on them most.
and don't see they irony or hypocrisy.
really. give it up.
stop being so sad and small and pathetic.
face it, you need them.
Most of the content here gladly comes from TV news.
