TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY 2012 CHARTER TASK FORCE COMMITTEE REJECTS TERM LIMITS AND CANDIDATE FILING REFORM!!!

Go ahead and watch the latest public meeting regarding Charter rules and regs for Jackson County.
I dare you:
2012 Charter Task Force Meeting -- KC 07/16/2012

Here's what you'll see . . .
The Committee recommended NO CHANGES in existing law in filling for County Office.
The Committee quickly slammed down the question of term limits.
To wit . . .
THE JACKSON COUNTY CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE REJECTED TWO OUT OF THREE TOP PRIORITIES PUT FORTH BY THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE AND THE LEGISLATURE!!!
Take a look at Jackson County's Charter Review page and note that term limits and filing reform are a big part of the "limited scope" of so-called reforms.
Right now this is a huge loss for:

Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders

And Dynamic Duo JaxCo Legislators Crystal Williams and Theresa Garza Ruiz
The Committee didn't see the same need to make these reforms as politicos looking build a rep as a "reformer" for their future political aspirations.
A JACKSON COUNTY POLITICAL INSIDER makes it plain:
"This is an obvious sign that Mike, Theresa and Crystal aren't listening to their constituents. The residents of Jackson County care about law enforcement, infrastructure and services and not these other issues that only apply to elected officials. They've received a clear message. It's time to start talking to voters and stop using other politicos or KC Star Columnists as a sounding board.
Obviously these recommendations can be overridden but it's important to note that neither the public nor the Charter Review Committee sees the need for political reform that's merely being used to pad résumés.
DEVELOPING . . .
They'll just follow their own suggestions.
ReplyDeleteMike sanders didn't want it to pass anyway. He doesn't have any other hope for political office except trying to run again for the chief groundskeeper of Jaco. Ditto waits and felon tindall on that, too.
ReplyDeleteNo reform, noe changes in Jackson County.
ReplyDeleteCrystal is just making mistakes as way of life. Crystal you promised change you failed. My vote goes to Holsman
ReplyDeleteFunk For Sure Wins
ReplyDeleteTerm limits are failing a cross the United States
ReplyDeleteThey did get one thing right. Term limits haven't helped anyone.
ReplyDeleteTheresa is a sell out. So sad.
ReplyDeleteCounty politics hasn't changed since the 50's, what do you expect?
ReplyDeletehas the legislators changed since the 50s?
ReplyDeletelol. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteCrystal isn't much without her bitch Yael.
ReplyDeleteThe only people that DON'T want Term Limits are politicians. In polls everywhere, voters support term limits at about 76% in most polls.
ReplyDeleteMost of these people just move from one political job to the next, constantly gathering income, retirement benefits, and insider deals along the way. And all without actually doing much of anything.
ReplyDeleteAnd when term limits finally boot them out the door, they get cushy lobbying jobs right back at city hall, the county, or in Jeff City.
And we pay for it all.
Garza has been really disappointing.
