TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! MISGUIDED NEW CROWN CENTER POLICY KICKS KIDS OUT OF THE FOUNTAINS AND ENDS A KANSAS CITY SUMMER TRADITION!!!

Crown Center corporate policy strikes again . . .
To wit and thanks to AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS . . .
CROWN CENTER IS RUINING A KANSAS CITY SUMMER TRADITION BY KICKING KIDS OUT OF THE FOUNTAINS!!!
This is a local summer tradition and the corporate marketing presser doesn't make a good case . . . Through the outbreak of so many new diseases and viruses over the years kids have kept playing in these fountains with no problems. This is horrible Kansas City corporate policy at its worst.
Check it:
New policy for Crown Center Square Fountain
This summer we've seen a dramatic increase in the number of visitors to Crown Center . There are now more family-oriented things to see and do in the Crown Center District than ever before. As a result, this area is now a true hub for families from throughout Kansas City and the region to spend time together, and we couldn't be happier about that.
With the large crowds, however, has come a growing concern about the safety of adults and children playing in the Crown Center Square Fountain. The increase in visitors also increases the potential for accidents, or for exposure to water-borne health issues in a facility that was never designed or intended to be a public pool.
That's why, effective immediately, people will no longer be allowed in the Crown Center Square Fountain . We know this will disappoint many people who have enjoyed a run through the fountains on a hot summer day, but guest safety is our utmost concern. Crown Center Security will ask anyone stepping into the fountain to move to nearby dry areas.
The fountain will continue to operate, and will continue to offer periodic programmed water displays with music recorded by the Kansas City Symphony, so visitors can still enjoy the fountains - just not run through them anymore.

Noooooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteStupid asshats: Chlorine kills bacteria. That water is chock full of chlorine!
ReplyDeleteAnother move to get rid of the black and Hispanic children that use the Crown Center as their only respite from the summer heat and a terrible economy.
Thanks for keeping it "white" down there.
Fail.

Weird a racist comment blaming whitey. I love it. White man's fault cause they don't allow people to not use the fountains as a water park. Why don't you start up your sprinkler and let the kids play in your yard.
DeleteCrown Center keeping it white. Looks like I'm buying Hallmark Cards again.
DeleteMessage behind the message....if there was a way to charge people to play in the fountains we could find a way to allow this to continue
ReplyDeleteIf you could charge people to play in the fountains then that would also eliminate the target group - poor minorities. But rather than make it a financial issue they are making it a health issue (with an insurance liability added in on top of it, for "extra protection"). TOTAL BS - they are getting rid of the "black blight" and that is plain to anyone with eyes to see it.

Nigger lover
DeleteGood for them. The city can crack a hydrant once in awhile for the little urchins to wash off in.
ReplyDeleteOR, you could continue to let the niglets wash off in the fountains UNTIL one of them slips and falls. Then, it's the NIGGER lotto for some stupid lawyer and his nig clients.
ReplyDeleteLol.. im sure your ugly inside and out, with a spot waiting for you in hell..
Deleteshame on crown center. Feel free to now ignore the idiot n-word guy.
ReplyDeleteNigger nigger nigger nigger nigger nigger Nigger nigger nigger. Nigger lover nigger lover
DeleteOMG, it has been a summer tradition for my kids to visit the fountain when in town to see our relatives. Literally, it there first and fondest memory of KC and the crown center area. Amazing.....
ReplyDelete@ Mr. J.W.
ReplyDeleteThe city is already responsible for paying their medical bills, why should they be responsible for washing their kids too? It isn't white peoples fault their homes are too dirty to take a shower in.
?white ppl r the dirties ppl on earth and stink 90% of the time. And 40% of the time white kids r n the water. Smelling like dog..
DeleteJust in time for a summer of record heat.
ReplyDeleteIf i had to guess there is probably already a plaintiff trying to cash out and that's what caused this.
ReplyDeleteNFUE!!!!! they do!
ReplyDeleteI have heard that are these things called public swimming pools and spray grounds, built with tens of millions of dollars provided by the taxpayers of Kansas City, that are fully staffed and operated by the City for water recreation.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the poor black and Hispanic children could use those?
They just like the feeling of water jets shooting up their asses.
ReplyDeleteFor years and years there have been stenciled notices on the stones surrounding the fountains instructing people to stay out. This isn't a new policy, they're just finally enforcing the old one. It sucks but I don't blame them a bit. It's amazing they haven't been sued to the point of having to turn it off completely. There's a nice public pool in Gillham Park less than 2 miles up the road.
ReplyDeleteSince P&L was built with hundreds of millions in taxpayer subsidies and continues to suck down a cool $12 million a year from the general fund, I think the City should require Cordish to provide free access for City residents to The Jones.
ReplyDeleteThey also are said to have a wonderful watermelon mojito and the best DJ's in the country. All the baby's mamas would be sure to enjoy.
I have got to get out of this conservative wasteland! Just when I think I have seen or heard it all, these hayseeds shock me with more senseless crap! To hell with Crown Center AND the Hall's!
ReplyDeleteI have got to get out of this conservative wasteland! Just when I think I have seen or heard it all, these hayseeds shock me with more senseless crap! To hell with Crown Center AND the Hall's!
ReplyDeleteBet folks would rather the city build a nice "water spray fountain" than have a toy train. It would be much cheaper too.
ReplyDeleteAbout time. I approve.
ReplyDeleteSomeone could always organize a "splash in" to protest the policy.
ReplyDeletePut Crown Center and their security to the test.
That kinda sucks. All kinds of kids go play in the fountains. It's in the middle of Midtown and the Westside. It don't get more diverse than that. The fountains are a better time than a public pool to a 5 year old. Your anonymous racists can look me up. You are the reason that we fuck each other over. And I will continue to do so. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhy not have the kcmo mounted police partol the fountains. Those lazy pigs and the horses they ride would finally do somehting useful.
ReplyDeleteIn todays "Sue em if your coffee is hot" society, I'm shocked it's taken this long. Correct me if Im wrong, and I may be, but Crown Center is a private owned business, it isn't city property. If that's the case, it is their right to protect themselves from legal action when some kid splits his melon and momma sues the ass off of them. Hard as it is for some people to accept, private business isn't required to cater to your whims. The outrage over a private businesses decision just shows how self entitled most of you morons have become. If you dont like the decision, dont shop there.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad. My daughter remembers her visits to crown center, spending the night at the hotel and of course running through the fountains. She now takes her kids there for the same experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, first it's all the murders in Kansas City now this. Kansas City is losing it's livability.
ReplyDeleteIt's private property folks.
ReplyDeleteThey are free to do what they want in regards to the safety of the fountain area. Get over it.
There is no chlorine in that water. Parents who let their children play in fountains are stupid. Better stock up on diarrhea meds!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a bigger bunch of crying pussies in my life on this website. I swear to God you people will bitch about anything and try to find a way to race bait and bring the police into a topic. It's crown centers property. They can do what ever the fuck they want. Who gives a flying fuck what you think you have the "right" to do on the property. Fuck, I was angry too when I read the news but holy shit do you whiny bitches know how to take it to the next level.
ReplyDeleteYeah, who cares about safety (until it's your kid). Long overdue policy, for many reasons...
ReplyDeleteBe careful, someone might get their feelings hurt and think you are anti-devirsity. You're just covering up your hate with the old racist "public safety" story.
DeleteGood for Crown Center!!! A private business wants the area to look nicer and be more family friendly to the actual paying customers that support their earnings!! Oh my GOD liberal fucks!! Lets cry about people using a fucking fountain as a pool!! What a joke!! Long overdue!!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!! You cry baby’s!!! You think in this day and age when someone is always looking to sue someone, only a fool would let people to continue playing in the fountain. If you are that torn up about it, then do what my brother & sisters had to do. Go out in your OWN YARD, TURN ON YOUR GARDEN HOSE, and play in your OWN WATER. No matter how you feel about it, the fountain is private property and your opinion does not pay the bills
ReplyDeleteIt's private property so Crown Center can do as they wish. If it was owned by the city, then the person at the top would seemingly benefit from personal injury lawsuits. http://www.slyjamesfirm.com/
ReplyDeleteI heard there's a dog park full of copperheads the little black and brown breeders can go play with.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought here. I always thought that the Crown Center fountains were built specifically for people (and kids) to run through.
ReplyDeleteIf you were going to build run-through fountains, how could you possibly build them any differently?
TKC BREAKING EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCrown Center Ice Terrace Policy
6/12/12
Effective immediately, Crown Center Ice Terrace management will ask patrons to please NOT fall on the ice!!! With the increased numbers of families visiting our ice skating facility, falling only endangers other guests and leads to skater congestion. If your novice skater, please see our schedule of supervised class instruction.
Thank you for your compliance, and thanks for visiting Crown Center.
Lame!
DeleteNow if they would just clean up that parking garage and wash the dishes in those bars.
ReplyDeleteReading some of these comments remind me of just how raciest KC still is. "Nigs"? Are you kidding me? California rocks.
ReplyDeleteGood, they're fountains, not a public pool or shower. Fountains are for viewing not swimming or bathing. If you want to swim go down to berkley park and take a leisurely swim in the river.
ReplyDeleteThis city sucks!! whites/blacks/latinos/asians et al...are coexixting in other cities...ignorant people reside here and be careful.. it seems like it rubs off!!
ReplyDeleteI am anti-racist. I can defeat this racism. Did I mention I'm anti-racist?
ReplyDeleteway way too many black kids down there...ya knew this one was comin....just a matter of time to get a convenient excuse..."with all the extra activity"...blah blah busllshit....
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you people don't go downtown and boycott P&L. It means you undesirables won't be around to spoil my fun when I go downtown.
ReplyDeleteMeh, I don't really care. I'd rather NOT see idiots running through it, ever since the time I saw a diaperless toddler squat and take a dump. Cleared that fountain out pretty quick! Well, that section of it, anyway. Just doesn't look classy, people playing and running in fountains. And we all know this moomer town's ALL bout class!
ReplyDeleteHURRAY for Crown Center! Perhaps the city will follow suit and make this policy effective for ALL fountains!!!
ReplyDeleteKansas City is the City of Fountains, not the city of Fecal Fountains. WASH YOUR BRATS AT HOME AND KEEP YOUR URCHINS OUT OF THE PUBLIC ART FOUNTAINS!
They are for viewing, a pool is for swimming and your toilet is for your children to swim in. Stop letting your heathen children sh*t in our fountains! YOU ARE JUST PLAIN NASTY!
Now where am I gonna wash my balls?
ReplyDeleteI guess the drinking fountains will do!
2:53- Spend a little more time here and you'll soon understand....
ReplyDeleteHow is a policy that effects all races possibly seen as racist? If they came out with a policy that said "only white people allowed in fountains" then I'd understand and say that shouldn't be allowed. When did holding everyone to the same rules become racists? They don't want to be sued by any race, I get it. Any private organization that has any rules or requires their guests to dress and act a certain way are labeled racists in this city. If the rules and policies are the same for everyone, that's called equality
ReplyDeleteYou mean those things are fountains? I thought they were public bidets.
ReplyDeleteMy bad.
If you look in your public parks rules and regulation it's technically a violation of city ordinance to enter into a fountain. But it makes more sense to get all upset over race baiting and lack of common sense in regard to basic sanitation and general health and well being of the public. If you want a free place to have your kids play in the water go to home depot get a cheap sprinkler and have the kids go at it in your yard on your own bill. Not a private business who you would sue if one of your nose miners got sick or injured.
