Like it or not, Missouri Secretary Of State Candidate MD Alam has a valid point in recent Truman Days argument.
Obviously, Jackson County Democrats are enthusiastically supporting Kansas City Democrat Jason Kander and have pretty much forgone the primary process. No matter what media watchers might think of MD Alam's chances as a candidate . . . What's clear is that he's being shut out.
This wouldn't be so important if . . .
IN AN IMPORTANT PRESIDENTIAL YEAR, JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS HAVE CONSISTENTLY SHUT OUT PEOPLE OF COLOR FROM THEIR LEADERSHIP!!!
This latest insult is just the most recent example of local Democrats talking a good game about diversity for the camera but then failing to put any of those ideals into practice.

‘MD Alam for Missouri Secretary of State’ is calling an immediate Media Advisory and Press Conference. The Media Conference has been scheduled at the Campaign Headquarters. The Press Conference will take place on May 14’ 2012 Monday at 1:00 pm.
Background of the Conference: Un-Democratic, un-Electoral, un-Constitutional acts by “Jackson County Democratic Committee” took place on May 11 & 12. This un-Constitutional act violets fair Voting and Election Process.
During the “Truman Days 2012 Gala Program” the Jackson County Democratic Committee Chairman Stephen Bough announced and Introduced Jason Kander as the Candidate of Missouri Secretary of State and have him promote his candidacy while Jason having primary on August 7’ 2012. Mr. MD Alam is also on the Democratic Primary ballot on August 7’ 2012 as a candidate for “Missouri Secretary of State” as well.
Mr. Alam is a DNC – National Democratic Ethnic Coordinating Council (NDECC) member and the National Chairman of “US National Democratic Party Asian American Caucus”. Alam is a elected Democratic Committeeman of Jackson County Democratic Committee from Kansas City Ward 26. During the dinner event last night May 12’ 2012 the Jackson County Democratic Committee failed to even acknowledge about MD Alam as he is a DNC – (NDECC) member as well as a Candidate for Missouri Secretary of State.
Jackson County Democratic Committee Chairman Mr. Stephen Bough was asked to include MD Alam for a brief remark as a candidate for Missouri Secretary of State.
Mr. Bough denied. Missouri Democratic Party Chairman and Jackson County Executive
Mike Sanders was asked about the issue, Mr. Sanders pointed at Mr. Bough and said it’s not his call; it’s all in Mr. Bough’s decision.

ReplyDeleteWhat it IS about is shutting out people who will not play the game, who have not proven their loyalty to the swells and insiders, who won't just give away the keys to the public coffers for graft and pet projects, who at least TRY to do the right thing for the good of their constituents.
THOSE are the people that get shut out. And it doesn't matter what their color, gender, sexual orientation, income level, education level, or favorite beverage.
Play the game by the insider rules or go home. Period.

Truman Days had Claire McCaskill keynoting in 2006, when she had an opponent in the primary. Jay Nixon spoke in 2008. I'd imagine Susan Montee spoke in 2010. The 'violet'ing of the Constitution has been merciless.
