It's not easy starting a rap music career from Kansas City, Missouri but the son of Mayor Sly James has already earned a cover story.

Kudos to the good folks at "The Slammer" publication in Kansas City, KS. because The Star has buried most of the coverage in order to keep the finicky Mayor happy and reserve their place in line for spoon fed scoops that are mostly about propaganda.
More importantly . . .
Double bonus points for KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS who not only told us about this FASCINATING FRONT PAGE COVERAGE OF THE MAYOR'S SON KYLE JAMES but also provided a close-up of the worst mugshot in Kansas City hip-hop history.
TKC supports and really likes just about all Kansas City hip-hop music but it's worth repeating that a dumb looking mug shot is not "what's hot in the streets" to borrow a phrase from the parlance of rap music.
Still, while Mayor Sly is pushing a misguided tax effort along with a Toy Train and so many other upcoming projects . . . His son ALSO continues to earn a great deal of press while getting in trouble at White Castle (like the Beastie Boys of the 80s) and getting thrown in the clink.

ReplyDeleteSee here's the thing about all that. If the politicos in office were just left to run the office, instead of worrying about silly PR issues, then they would be much better at their job. Kyle is a grown man, making grown decisions. The Mayor isn't responsible for holding his hand every minute of the day. The Mayor, like any politician, doesn't need his personal life sprawled across newspapers...he needs his policy that way, instead. Yet, people are so focused on him screwing up so bad that any opportunity to point out faults, regardless of how personal, seems to trump the motivation for the Kansas City citizens to assist in coming up with a better policies. If Kyles' last name was Stewart, he would just be another faceless name in the crowd. But because it's James, the neccisity of pointing fingers overpowers everything else. Kyle James isn't special (except to friends and family) and yet, you, Tony, continue giving him quite a name. Whats more important, is that TKC never seems to come up with any ideas of it's own to improve upon the policy. So this leaves the TKC with two options. Either get to helping by assisting in the policy that you seem to so detest...or stick to doing what you do best...and show us some more boobies!

Kyle spends his time partying like most people his age do-tony spent his 20's in his moms basement writing about people partying. When are you going to get the courage to finally ask Kyle out on a date tony?????

ReplyDeleteIt's certainly true that the mayor should be judged on his policies. So, besides kissing the same old butts and being jerked around by the same old folks, what exactly ARE his policies?

ReplyDeleteI believe one of the Mayor's policies is to reduce crime in this town. If you can't even influence the behavior of your "grown adult" son so he stays out of trouble, how you gonna keep the real knuckleheads and gangbangers from doing the same and much worse? (Not to mention providing your kid with material support so he can continue his criminal antics.).
ReplyDeleteAnd how are you going to have any credibility when it comes to curbing unwanted or counterproductive (but legal) actions by law-abiding citizens? How you gonna persuade folks to follow your agenda when your son can't/won't/doesn't listen to you?
The fact that the Mayor (and his apologists) stonewall and won't deal with this issue also begs the question of what they will do about other unpleasant but necessary business. You gonna ignore those as well? Hope they go any?
Another of the Mayor's "policies", perhaps unwritten but which seems to be inferred among KCPD Command staff, is to see that his fuck up son receives preferential treatment from KCPD. So now, not only do Kyle's fuck up antics show how impotent the Mayor is, it has spread to give the appearance of favoritism from law enforcement, and reinforces the perception and complaints from the community of disparate treatment.
Cancer does not, in and of itself, kill. Cancer interferes with the ability of the body and its organs to function normally- that's what kills. Make no mistake- Kyle's behavior is directly relevant to his father, the Mayor, and if Sly doesn't deal with it directly and forcefully, it will be a cancer that grows and consumes his administration later on.
That's at least a few reasons why what Kyle does, and how the Mayor responds to what he does, is relevant to the citizens of Kansas City. And anyone advising the Mayor otherwise should be relegated to the back 40.

ReplyDeleteThis guy is a thug. Period. And whatever his last name, as long as he is the son of the Mayor and continually requires the police to clean his diaper and wipe his ass, he deserves the attention.
And all the wishing in the world by the Mayor and his supporters that Kyle would just go away won't make it so.
I want the Mayor to succeed because I want Kansas City and it's citizens to proper. Deal with your son, Mr. Mayor, so you can get on with the people's business.

Yes, James both junior and senior or an extension of one another. It's clear the Mayor's private policy is just as embattled as his public policy.
